1986 BJ70VX No modifications except for those wheels. Located in southern Maine. Acquired unintentionally, not sure what I'm going to do with it. Currently not on the road. Still learning about it.....

What does acquired unintentionally mean?

That's an LJ70. The wheels are correct.

Woytovich - by acquired unintentionally it came into my life as I've been attracted to the Land Rover series 2/2A/3 and this one became suddenly available and it was so similar. Except the Lucas part fortunately, before anyone says anything.

Thank you for the corrections Dan. Had it less than a week. See, I'm still learning. ;)
In the engine bay area, you should see a manufacture plate against the firewall with the details on your vehicle. You can also find a frame number on the outside of the frame when crouching down behind the front right tire. You can use that frame number (on the engine bay plate as well) here to pull up additional details and part numbers that match your frame:

You have friends in the area if you need help :)

Just acquired.
1987 BJ74 - Name - TEX
RHD
Manual
Turbo Diesel

I have only owned 80 series and 100 series.

This thing is a blast to drive. Donuts and drifting in the snow was fun. It also gets up to speed much quicker than I imagined.

Question - There is rust over the rear wheel wells. Does anyone sell small fender flares? I want the rust treated and covered until I figure out if I am replacing those panels or not.

-This Troopy has seen some time out in the bush, nothing too bad but will be spending my first few months (at least) understanding what all the PO had going on.
-For me, this is the one to build up for long term travel. It’s going to be a slow build but in the mean time this will be my go to for camping and all the typical Cruiser duties.

I realize this has been tried before but with the increasing number of 70 Series in the U.S., I thought I would give it another shot. If you live in the U.S. ( nothing personal Canada ) and own a 70 Series can you post the type and state in which you reside. Feel free to post a photo. Hopefully we can get an accurate count as to how many have been imported.
Thanks.......
how do you post a picture

Hello,

You can ask here.

For more informal issues, there is Chit-Chat.

You can also start a conversation with other members by clicking the mail envelope icon.

Many around here do not use social networks much.
