Hey Guys

I need to get a replacement lens for my turn signals. I have had a few guys tell me they would hook me up but still no luck. I am not asking for a freebie but I broke one lens on my drivers side and need a replacement. Anybody out there have one of these laying around? Thanks

Anybody out there? Bumpy Bump

Hey Ming,

Thanks for the info. I tried both sources but no luck. Anyone else out there that may have one of these? Thanks

Carmon

Hey Trollhole. The numbers on the broken one are, 2649 and also SAE D67. I think the D67 is the bulb info. Thanks

Bump. Anybody? I have exhausted all salvage options...

Id pull off the good one, get some orange perspex, cut out one lens for each side, and put the good one in a safe. Might look a bit silly, but should work as a stop gap measure for you. Perspex will work as the lens isnt really an odd shape, just wont bulge out as yours do. You may need a small bead of silicon around the back of to stop it leaking.
Just an idea

So no luck on anyone having a replacement lense, that being said I have been given some ideas on replacements.

Question: What are some options out there that I can replace these with? I know I could use 70 series turn signals but to be honest those look odd to me. Any other options that anyone is aware of?

Find yourself a good hot rod shop. Some of them have universal mount turn signals. Granted, they will not look like the ones you have now, but they will be funcitonal and fit right in on a pig. I put some on my 40 when I trimmed the fenders. The old, stock lights had to go. Purchased a set of small hot rod turn signals that have been working now for well over 5 years. Just a thought :)

i have some in Libby if you ever come this way... and would be willing to trade the both lights and lenses nd the front blinkers with the bib if you had some 70 series markers you would let go. I have been saving for future project but little time these days. working currently on 72 soa fj55 that is taking forever.

can't remember who stated this, but it was a few years ago, someone used Suzuki, or Yamaha mortorcycle turn signals.

at least they were close to the original.

try Kina at North COuntry Land Cruisers. his MUD handle is "Cruiserland" or go to northcountrylandcruisers.com he has a few pigs hiding in the woods behind his house

Thanks guys. I tried all options but to no avail. Looks like I am gonna try another option.

I found some Hella turn signals that should work. They are round and maybe a little nerdy but they might grow on me. I'll post a pic as soon as i install one. Should be sometime tonight.

Solution

Ok guys. Here are the universal Hella turn signals that I picked up. I installed them last night and took a pic this morning. I think they look good. I know they aren't stock but at least if i break these I can get a replacement lens fairly easy.

***I know i am gonna get tons a grief for this but, if anyone wants to trade some interior parts for my original apron turn signals let me know.****

look good. the average Joe will think they are factory. do they have running lights and turn? the aprons are just running lights?

the 70 series signal lights are a squeeze. but these fit perfect.
nice work.

Thanks.

Turn signals only the running lights are in the grill... you can kinda see them in the picture. I don't have the lights in there yet.

I don't know if I missed it but I always wondered why Toyota made the change from the 68 turn signals location to the one we have on most pigs (on the fender)? Think it had something to do with a greater chance of them getting bumped/snapped off? Those side markers are so unique (as is the pig) and I always wondered what motivated the change:meh:

Yeah is odd for sure, makes my 69 different for sure. They are really easy to mess up and near impossible to replace. I like the replacement that I found, that way I can keep my originals in a safe locked up safe = )
