CT26 is 30 year old technology, and there is no advantage to using it on a 1PZ (didn't come with an OEM turbo).
A few of the TD04 series would probably work. Or maybe T25.

This company is still making complete kits for 1pz, but I don't know much about them.

A td04-13 would make good low down torque or a td05-16 would be a good all rounder. Or garret 2052 for low down, 2860 for power. Definetely not a CT, theyre not good turbos.
Not sure why some are downplaying the CT26, it is a proven, long-standing turbo that does the job well.
I put the CT26 into my 1HZ and it has provided ~50% HP gain. The main reason I went with the CT26 over others is the quick response. I cannot stand turbo lag. Sure, there are other turbo's out there that will produce more HP, but with a longer lag between shifts. Also, I had to crank this down to limit the boost to 11lbs... so I could literally have MORE power, but tuned for longevity and economy. I have been extremely happy with the results.
One piece of advice - make sure to invest in high quality gauges to monitor what is going on. At the very least a high quality pyrometer to make sure you are not cooking your motor, causing premature wear on long hill pulls or when pulling a trailer like I do from time to time.

Because most have zero clue about what they are talking about. CT26 is a great turbo and even better when you upgrade the internals for modern tech components.

I went with ISSPRO gauges, they are working completely fine, but @Gun Runner 5 put in some neat REDARC gauges that I would take a look at if I were to do it again... pricey, but they incorporate more into one gauge.
