There's a climb about half way through (S to N) that runs up the west side of the canyon to a dead end. It's been 4 years since I was there, so don't know if it's still open or not. Searched my pics, but didn't have one of the climb...

I know the hill you speak of. Yes it's still there. I made that hill one time and didn't make it another. Steep, rocky on the lower half, rough granite on the upper half. We just drove by it this time.
I don't think I have any pictures of it .

I'm pretty sure it's always been closed as I don't think it is a numbered FS road. From the TNF website...

Tonto has some concerns with the washouts and new bypasses that have been cut. I'm preparing a report, pix, etc and will offer our services, if any would like to do a rock stacking/washout repair day?
