You guys have fun. And take lot's of pictures for all of us.

You need access to a press, even if you torched out the old bushings you still need to pressing the new ones. Maybe a local shop will be of help

That took a lot of sweat but I got them in! I borrowed AutoZone's ball joint C clamp. It was brand new when I got it. Now it's not! Those new bushings seemed like they were .5mm bigger. Hopefully the death wobble is gone. It wasn't that bad, maybe just a migraine wobble!

After further consideration, Graham and I are out. Don't think he'd appreciate being strapped in his car seat that long.

Y'all have fun.

Richard we can plan a simple overnight closer to home in the next two weekends.

Doesn't look like we've got anyone from the south side joining us so let's meet at the QuickTrip on Grant. There should be enough room for everyone to park and their gas prices are usually on the lower end for Tucson, so it's a good place to fill up if required.

I spoke the ranger and she said they were expecting it to be fairly busy down that way with the weather warming up. She didn't let on to any way over the mountains from west to east other than the normal access roads, so we'll likely start at Portal as planned, drive FR42 up to the National Monument and then down 181 to find a camp site around Turkey Creek.

Edit: She also suggested Rucker Canyon may be a bit quieter. We'll see how we're doing for time. I don't think we'll have any issue finding a nice spot to camp.

@Otter - shame you two can't make it but totally understandable. Get well soon.

Who's driving old cruisers or what is the anticipated cruising speed?

There should be 2 60's and two 80's plus a 100 that I'm aware of. Nobody goes fast in this crowd. 75 mph top but usually cruise with the flow of traffic on the interstate. Once on local highways, never over the speed limit.

Another enjoyable run. Five vehicles on Saturday set off from Tucson down to the Chiricahua National Monument, we checked out the view from the top and then took FR42 through the Coronado National Forest. We tried for a detour to see if we could find something low range worthy but were stopped by a road closed sign. Four of us camped at the Cypress Park Campground in Rucker Canyon and on Sunday morning took a scenic drive in to Douglas. We followed the border as far as we could toward Naco and then made our way in to Bisbee and then home.

Thanks to all who attended and made for a great weekend out in Southern Arizona.

I have to commend our Border Patrol, very courteous and taking the time to talk to us and radio ahead so we weren't stopped every mile or two.

Bummed to have missed it! Looks like a great time. But then I would've thrown off the color equality...
