Tru-Fit Vinyl Replacement

I got a roll of that Dynatape (aluminium 'finishing' tape) and applied that over most of the exposed edges of the resomat. Needed more than 1 roll so will need to get another one.

I've now put the new vinyl in and got both front seats re-installed. The vinyl isn't a perfect fit through Tru-Fit do 'form' it somewhat to match the shape of the floorpan elements. I've been trimming it back as I go.

This is how the back section looked before I'd worked out how to make the rear bench seat base mounts all fit properly again. A bit more cutting and trimming needs to happen and it's complete enough for me with Resomat and Tru-fit's own underlay plus the vinyl finally ridding the 80 of all original Toyota factory flooring and underlay..





Given how bad I remember the original vinyl over the cargo floor area was with significant damage, rust, etc. when I got the vehicle in 2011 and how nasty the original underlay under the front footwell section of flooring was in 2016/17, it's quite a feat. Very long project to sort out the flooring! I have rubber ute matting cut to fit in the rear cargo area now as that's easy to remove to clean the floor proper. Didn't want vinyl there.

I'll see if I can get a pic or two of the front. Note that the front has been done for about 7 yrs - I only did the back section recently.

I decided to try and make some simple bits of metal to hold the new flooring pushed back with the 'front' bolt of each of the three rear seat mounts and that created a small technical problem where the mounts did not properly align with a few of the captive nuts in the floor. I ended up being able to get all but two (the far right mount - both bolts) to re-fit with the existing bolts, but the far right mount has required me to re-tap both captive nuts with a M10 x 1.25 tap to fix up the threads and I used slightly longer 30 mm instead of 25 mm set-screws which have gone cleanly into the captive nuts.
