got the cage all fit up now, it's been a s*** few weeks. too much crap to deal with. i have not been working on the cruiser much.

the bows do fit with loads of room to clear over the cage. the middle bow is a tight fit between the cage and the edge of the tub, but it's the only place i've found any interference (yet).

i did get a few body pieces removed, and some new fiberglass ones ready to go, a few bits are already sent off to sandblast and paint.

still need to deal with a few body issues, and then spray/roll on liner for the inside. damn! that s*** is expensive in Australia.

ocd tells me that the top is "almost" done, so i'm looking forward to getting this all together.

then i can start on some "real" mods... lol:flipoff2: the engineer is going to hate me, but i have a feeling with the all the $$$ he'll get, it'll soon be love.

a few pics from today.

Gee it's a rather beefy cage, good work.

Gee it's a rather beefy cage, good work.

thanks for the props herbs,

it's just a metal tech cage for a SWB (the shiny bits) with an "extra" B pillar and supports, you can see the darker tube that i've added in the middle.

bit of canvas and some seat tubing for bows won't do much when i end up on my lid ... :hillbilly: eh?

won't even see it with the soft top on.

ok, bit of an update,

bows are blasted and in primer, got a few panels painted (glass half doors and bib, new to me hood) to see if the painter and the colour would work. yes and yes. the 464 will look good with an OD canvas top.

most of the blasted parts came up really nice and look new with the powdercoat primer, i'm sold on it.

cage is finally done (well welded anyway) off for blast and paint this week.

the meat plow is gone (the potato weeps..:flipoff2:), got an old TJM bar as trade, it's going for blast and paint with the cage.

just finishing up some floor repairs.

all in all this project is moving along.

all i'm waiting on is the top...

cheers

G'day Crusty,
What are your plans for the truck once its done?

Cheers,

Ben

beaten... to death :hillbilly:

if you want, i can PM more info on the powdercoat primer. the place that i get stuff sand blasted uses it as primer for powdercoat and paint. dunno how it'll turn out, but looks great as primer.

well, project cluster fawk is moving along again.

the cage is a month late and still not done (powder coater has to re-blast and coat...:bang:) still waiting on the top :meh: and the "new" bullbar has to be re-done as well. damn powder coater.

it's off to paint finally, and none of my time lines worked out.

really looking forward to the nice weather (it's on it's way) and having all the body work finnished (including the new top) so i can get started on some "real" mods.

so many parts just sitting and waiting :flipoff2:

will post up more pics when i get the old girl home again. the herculiner did come up sweet!

cheers

post #51 is a good place to start looking... i stole the pics from a thread started by pinhead IIRC. search will get you some good info and pics to get started as well.

the "cross bars" longitudinal, are troopy specific i think. could get you lengths for those.

what are you going to use for door openings? that will make a difference on the width of the "b" pillar bow.

there are vendors selling complete set ups on 'mud, but for the price, you could bend and fawk up a lot of EMT:hillbilly:

won't touch the truck again 'till the first or second week of october, it's off to paint and parts are en-route.

cheers
