Awesome guys! I'd love to join up next year!

When was this?? I have been in Telluride since last Sunday. Saw a white cruiser from Texas with BIOR rear bumper, ironman front black bumper. Was gonna jump out to meet you but settled into the condo first. Black bear sounds interesting with a 100 series!

Had to rent a jeep. Short wheel base was fun, but I could hardly trust the transmission. Fell out of gear several times. Didn't engage many others!

Will have to drive my cruiser here next year.
HIH 4 was August 1-3. Check out the website. www.100sinthehills.com. Also, check out the Facebook page.

Sounds like another great event. Sad I missed this one.

We finally made it home yesterday after a ~4700 mile trip which started with meeting the Denver crew en route to Ouray, then 4 days in Ouray, a few days in Boulder/Rocky Mountain area, Blackhills, Rushmore, Badlands and a straight shot home. Have a mountain of work to catch up on and my wife has at least 10 loads of laundry to do but wanted to make a quick shout out and thank you to the organizers of the event and all the great folks we met there!

The family and I had a ton of fun, special thanks to @paflytyer and the organizers for going out of their way to make sure the family was having fun and that it is such a kid-friendly event.

Thanks to @nakman for help in delivering and installing our new Gamiviti expo rack, it looks awesome!

And to all the great folks we were able to meet, chat with, ride trails with and generally have a good time.

What's the furthest someone has come from for this event? I'm thinking it would be best shopping the truck out there and then driving back if I were to join next year.

3D FJ....I've met folks from the East Coast (Pa, Va, and NC), the South (Ga, La, and my home State of Tx), Southwest (NM, Az), West Coast (California), and the Northwest (Wa). This year, I recall talking with folks from Va who shipped their land cruiser out and flew out to Denver, but know in previous years others have driven from Va. If you read up a few threads, you'll see that @fireball made a 4,700 mile trip to attend the event. It's a great event and I can't help but believe you'll have a great time whether you drive out or ship/fly. We had some time off after the event this year and considered doing a cross country trip to visit family in Va after the event. Couldn't quite make the timing work. But then again, we enjoy overlanding and a long road trip doesn't bother us if their is time to do so.

I drove out from NC earlier in summer and then went home for a couple of weeks to work, etc.

--But --

this event is so awesome I'd drive out the 4 days it takes just for it! Of course there is plenty more to see and do either side of the event, so I'd do like @fireball and make the 100s event the centerpiece.

Colorado is still here, John......c'mon back up! Maybe we need to do 2 events in the Centennial State?

Anyone else having Colorado withdrawals, or is it just me?

I'm not washing the mud off until this weekend.

This was an awesome trip, everyone should do this at least once. Tim and Stan were our trail bosses and they were great people to wheel with.

I'd leave today if I thought I could make it happen with work and the kids schedule. With school starting in the next few weeks and some looming deadlines with a project at work, I'm afraid there will be snow on the ground when everyone's schedule frees up enough to make another trip. Which is ok, we love to ski!

Two great magazines were part of 100s in the Hills this year as well. OutdoorX4 and TCT Magazine are both supporters of our great event.

Use the coupon code HIH2014 for 20% off a subscription to OutdoorX4 or pick up the next issue at your local bookstore/newsstand.

Thank you, @txoutdoorx4 for sending magazines/stickers for everyone at HIH4! They were well received!

Thank You, @shane4x4 for make a great digital magazine available to everyone online!

We're thrilled to have both of you on board with us.

Good times! Headed back out Labor day week to do some trails and a couple of 14ers. Plan on doing some further exploring around Breckenridge.

Beautiful pictures and great trip report. Jealous here for sure! Just wondering, is armor recommended to run these trails? I see at least one truck with stock bumpers on it like myself.

You could easily enjoy an entire weekend of trails with no armor at all. We had a totally stock, very nice LX470 with us on Saturday's Black Bear run.
