Great trip report, always a treat to read.

I was hoping to get out there with Mark at Thanksgiving but family obligations squelched that trip. I guess it will have to be an early 2010 trip for me.

Offroading/camping with a keg! That is bleeping cool...

That is awesome Dave and Yosh! I am going to have to drive out there one year and have you show me around Death Valley! That Trasharoo sure looked luxurious!

Thanks Dave, I now have some Rd Err. trail names to map out. I already see that a few miles can be cut off by exiting Hwy 190 a little earlier at Saline Valley Alternate Route.
Great trip report as always and now I just need to fine at least one other vehicle to join me!

So I finally got around to flagging the route you took in Google Earth and I see you did a BIG counter clockwise loop. Splitting off to the East up Hunter Mtn. Rd. and coming back down Saline Valley Rd. via Ubehebe Rd. from the race track. I am curious which way was faster? But I am guessing you were happy to not go back up the washboard.

Also where is Buckhorn Box Car Cabin? I couldn't find it anywhere on Google Earth.

Yeah buckhorn box car cabin. Just after the joshua tree forest keep your eyes peeled to the left once you start into the canyon, it has its own road up to it. You can see it from Saline Rd.

We ran the loop counter clockwise because we wanted the h1 to go Down lippincott instead of up. The really bad washboard is in the middle of the loop, so it doesn't really matter which way. Also the views are nice dropping down hunter mtn, vs going up saline valley rd.
