Anyone want a set of Firestone destination LT 265/70/16 street tires? They were on my white 97 when I bought it. 3 of the 4 are good, #4 has horrible wear on the outer edge. all hold air. I can bring them tomorrow to dinner.

Hey guys, we may be able to swing by, we should be camped out at Oak Hollow Campground by tommorow noonish.
We are basing out of that area looking for a house / shop. Anybody know of any good deals in the Triad area let me know!

How far south of the Triad are you willing to go? South of Pittsboro? :)

We're trying to stay within 30 minute drive of Jamestown where my wife's parents are living.

C'mon folks! We found @weejub a place that was willing to take him, and we it do it again for Henry!

Do you have kids in school? How large of a house? acreage? Guilford and forsyth counties have higher taxes than surrounding counties (bigger cities). Our taxes doubled when Greensboro annexed our neighborhood in 2003.

Kernersville is nice, Summerfield is nice, but on the wrong direction of traffic (coming from ATL, you'll laugh at that), and at the max of your 30 min commute to your inlaws. Summerfield has no town taxes, only guilford county taxes. The schools in that part of the county (Northwest and Northern Guilford) are two of the best in the state (not just saying that to butter up @Rice LOLOLOL). That area is growing, so road construction is constant, and housing prices have gone up. I'm on the NE side of Greensboro, my daughter had a few classes at Jamestown, and there is no fast way there from here. Had we known the area better when we moved here in 2000, we would have probably built in Summerfield. I've got a 10 min commute to work during rush hour, including 5 stop lights ;)

If you want more rural, archdale, climax (my wife couldnt move out there, because she couldnt have address labels with that without embarassment), and other areas around western randolph county are nice.

If you get bored Saturday morning, we will be over on the other side of the lake across from the campground sailing RC Sailboats. it would be across the lake (have to drive all the way around unless you can convince Vicki to drive you over in the Marina Patrol boat). Should be there from about 930 to 1 or so. We will be either at the sailboat ramp, or at the next shelter over.

Our children are grown and moved away thank God. Looking for some acreage possibly. Lots of garage space but could build a nice garage hate to pay taxes but we can like to keep it under 500k. Prefer no Covenants.

Careful what you ask for HENDOG . . . :)

In addition to a LOT of help from ONSC members on items like schools, etc, we asked ourselves "do we like beach or mountains more" and that led us to be East/West of my work (which was West, btw).

30 minutes of Jamestown can take you all the way to past Lexington, Asheboro, Siler City or even Saxapahaw.

SE of Jamestown gets into the area that my Wife and I look at on a daily basis when I am not wasting time on here.

You can find a lot of horse farms like this one:

2875 Knoll Trl, Graham, NC 27253 | MLS #826729 | Zillow

Or small truck-farm like places (this is too far, but an example):

We looked at this place twice. I am ready to move here, but family is not. It is a little high on the price too, but not bad for 18 acres in Chatham county with an insulated shed and about 5 acres of great topsoil etc. Would be 50 minutes, though:

370 Cora Ln, Pittsboro, NC 27312 | MLS #2112907 | Zillow

Here is a Zillow search that is centered on Jamestown that is sorted by lot size, excludes anything smaller than 5 acres:

Single Family Homes For Sale - 75 Homes | Zillow

Almost anything outside of GSO, HP and Guilford County will be more affordable. Forsyth county is good for taxes, K'ville is a nice small town, Davidson county and Thomasville are low taxes and Thomasville has the small town feel. Randolph county is low tax and Lexington is booming. NC is a great state, I don't care what the ncaa says, and you will be able to find a lot of good options.

Go north @HENDOG Rockingham county is where it's at!! Plenty of land and cheap taxes!!

On a side note if we knew you were in town we could have had sardines and crackers for the meeting!

Anybody wanna sardine!?!

'Sup Henry. Some good advice here. If looking for 30min from jamestown and not cross town traffic bound look into pleasant garden area. Lil less refined area but more space and less dollars and still access to greensboro in 30 min.

Lil further out, im on board with weejub. Snow camp, julian, saxapahaw, area is really nice. Orange/ chatham counties along 54 and 64 corridors. Has a rural farmland touch but close access to i 40 and the capital city area. Lil further from the grandkids but under an hour for sure.
