SILVER Star
Noticed some leaking transmission fluid on the skid plate so I took it off, and saw that the fitting on the driver's side (when you look up at the radiator from underneath), the 90 deg one, was leaking. The fitting between the nut and the 90 deg piece was pretty tight, but the entire thing could be rotated just by pushing a bit on the hose. The hose was already angled in a way right against the frame where I couldn't easily just turn this whole assembly to tighten it.
So I held the nut with pliers and pushed the hose counterclockwise, then turned the entire assembly (hose + nut) to tighten the nut against the trans cooler. Few questions:
1) Is it common for these fittings to leak? Or to come loose?
2) Is the method I used going to cause more leaks or is it fine? If more leaks, how are you supposed to do this properly?
