Tranny to Transfer case bypass hose

The assumption when installing this hose is that the seal between the trans and t-case has failed. Thus allowing the gear oil from the trans into the tcase..
I think the idea is that if your seal has failed, the hose will allow the fluid from the overfilled t-case a route back to the trans. However the fill plug for the trans is 3-5 inches above the t-case fill plug so nothing happens.
I have also heard people talk about pressure forcing fluid one way or another. However, again they should both have clear vents to prevent any pressure buildup.
If the fluid levels in your trans and t-case stay steady than you are good and the hose just provides a path for the gear oil to overfill the t-case.

BTW I did my first t-case rebuild in high school with hand tools.

Going back to this, I do agree that the best solution is to replace the seal btwn tranny and t-case.
However, if you do not check your fluid levels in these boxes regularly, this is a nice aid to make sure your t-case is not running dry until you find the problem...

ok guys you got the hoses post some pictures of the install and the amount of oil that came out of the transmission when you took the fill plug out.

Pablo the vender will sell you just one let me know the size and we will get it ordered.

How are they listed? 12.75" hoses only?

Ebay listing

I only have the 12.75 i bought in the last group if I sold it on ebay I was going to reorder mine because I am a year from needing it. I you want a longer one let me know the size and send a paypal for the $55. The vendor will make them as long as 17.5 for the same price as the 12.75. As soon as we get the six paid for we will place the order the last batch. We only need six for this order and we have two as of tonight.

Great looking hose on ebay, count me in on the group buy for a 12.75 for a stock 76 with a stock 1 piece transfer case.

Size

I need to know the size you need. Its most likely one of these three 12.75, 15.75 and 17.5. Rather than retyping how to measure look through the thread it tells how to measure to get the right hose. The length is your responsibility. I know a 74 & 76 FJ40 with a H42 sock transmission and a one piece transfer case is 12.75. I have no idea what the other sizes are. The cost is $55 shipping included. I will PM you my email address for paypal.

Double checking does the hose run from these 2 spots if so the size would be 12 3/4" . For reference this is a 1969 FJ40 3 on the tree factory engine. Thanks for your help.

Yes that is where the hose goes ealier in the thread it shows a picture of mine installed on a trans tranny out of the vehicle. Kentucky you going to still sit on the fence? I agree with your comment but I bet he is enjoying his ride more than me.

Put me in the group for one shipmag, will measure and confirm tomorrow.
