Just finished the Knuckle rebuild.
Next project-- I would like to replace my H42 with a H41 and mate it to my Orion HD. Having a few issues with Orion shifter that engages the 4WD. It occasional skip and will get stuck in 4WD. Usually have to take the top plate off the fix. I would like to resolve this issue for good.
I have never pulled the Transmission/Tcase before.

Looking for recommendations on where to start.
I will do a internet search and look for Videos, but you guys here on MUD are my go to.

My goal is to get this rig ready for Black hills Cruiser Classic this year.

Any comments and info would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the seats and frames, pull the tranny cover.

Disconnect everything down below.

Use an engine hoist from in the cab to lift it while you pull it from the bellhousing.

Or wrestle some bears through the winter to bulk up then in the spring wrestle it all out from underneath.

Purchase your Silver Star, download the FSM, read through the process again and again and then follow along with the FSM. It is not all that difficult, but like mentioned above, its heavy. A job I would try and have a helping hand or two to assist.

Your description is confusing. Pulling the top cover accesses the hi-PO shift fork , not the 4wd.
