Picked up extra shifts at the hospital to pay for the "monkey on my back", that resides on 4 wheels in my drive way!
I also picked up next Sat and Sun too...That will be 13 days straight of work between the TWO jobs...Not fun, but....need the cash to be able to play!
Ya gotta do what you gotta do!

As far as CB, most likely Channel 3. As far as Ham...well I don't know, there will only be a few radios present. I still don't have mine. My radio fund is going toward tires. Figure those are a little more important right now.

We got home at 7:30.

Short summary:
A few of us camped at Smoke Creek Friday evening; great place; great weather; and of course another round of Pyrat and Ginger Snaps

Saturday morning we all met up at Bruno's in Gerlach; 8-rigs then headed North to the Black Rock Desert/Playa...where we kicked up some ancient lake bed dust. Visited hot springs and had a nice albeit dusty ride up to High Rock Canyon. Kind of a long day in the saddle...we were all looking forward to camping at Steven's Camp...but the place was already taken by a large group of shoot'n, drink'n yahoos...so we pushed on. It was starting to get late in the day (or early in the evening ); everyone was tired, hungry and ready to set camp. It sure didn't look good for finding a flat place for 8-rigs, tents, etc. But low and behold we came across a great place to shut 'er down for the night (and resume Pyrat + Ginger Snaps!). Said good-bye to Nile, Leslie and their family at Vya late this morning...we continued South to the Petrified Forest...back to Gerlach for gas and shot down the highway home.
It was another great trip!!! What wonderful folks to be with...I can't say that too many times!
Oh yeah...the wild flowers were still blooming...and we saw a half-dozen or so Big Horn Sheep in High Rock!
