Hey Guys, Thanks for thinking about me.....

I've been super busy the past six months or so trying to get a new job/business started so I haven't done much wheeling or even web surfing. I'm doing a swap meet/show & shine with my club in Placerville May 19 so I can't make it anyway.

Jack, new truck?

Harry, how's New Mexico treating you?

New job/business??? What you got going there Pete?

Yeah, new truck. We liked the LX, but it never really did it for us. So we decided to try a Tacoma. So far we are liking it, we'll see how it goes over the long term. Plus we are looking at a little different setup for camping, so for right now, the Tacoma fits the bill.

Is the plan going to be like last year, drive in and drive out and stay at the hot springs. I'm planning on making it but not sure, because fire season is approaching very fast, and i can never tell where i will be. Josh

At the meeting we discussed heading in across the plya to double hot springs if it's dry enough. Other than that, and the meet time/place, there is no plan. A lot will depend on the weather.

I hope you can make it we are looking forward to seeing you again. Any chance your Dad will tag along again?

I have'nt spoke with my father about it, but since he is pretty much retired his schedule is open. I'm looking forward to making it, I might bring the the Tacoma because tommorro I'm going to start storing my 60 at my Grandmothers house in Adin. I just sold my home in redding and the place i'm renting does not have the space to keep it. josh

We may actually be able to make this trip...

:bounce:

We will need to overnight Friday somewhere. Is there any thing towards Gerlach, or should we go for Reno? We don't need or want anything fancy.

Probally your best bet is Reno, but there is a hotel in Gerlach. Brunos has a hotel but it is nothin special, but a bed. Its busy time of year is probally huntin season, so i don't know if you need reservations or not.

Are you sure they won't miss you at work? :flipoff2:

I'm hoping we will camp at Smoke Creek Friday night.

There is a nice camp spot around 40° 29'N, 119° 49'W (NAD83/WGS84), just after you cross the bridge at Smoke creek. The camp spot is by the creek under a grove of cottonwood trees. This is about 3/4 of the way between Reno and Gerlach. Maybe closer to Gerlach.

That's doable, depending on how we leave on Friday...

I know exactly where you are talking about. So you are going to head up there on Friday and just wait for everyone to catch up to you on Saturday morning? If so, Darcie and I may join you on Friday night if you don't mind. That would too cool.
