Trail Ride to Grey Rock

We really don't know what the trails are like. We haven't been there. We can all learn together. I have been told that they have by-passes for all of the hard spots. Also, We have no control over what the price is. The owners of the park set the price. Our club is making no money on this. We just want to get together and have a good time. We are going to try to have a small raffle. Come on and join us.

What JESTERB & Bodean said is true-were not making money off this.
Park fee & Porta john fee is what your paying for.
75-85 for event is not bad, see that other TLCA events are going to run you about $100 for registration & other stuff.
We as a club wanted to have a ride for everyone to participate in & enjoy. We want every type of Toyota to show up & have fun even if you don't wheel...ride, take pics, or just relax. Its what you make it!

To add my $.02: We are a laid back club, and we plan on putting on a laid back event. We hope it is lots of fun for everyone. This is a shakedown run since we have never been there. We hope it goes well, and if it does we would like to make a big event out of it.

This ride is going to be catered to the folks who have never been to a wheeling event, and to those with stock trucks. If that's you, you will feel welcome. If that's not you, plan on helping make someone feel welcome. We have several members from our club here localy who have never been on a trail ride who will be coming, and we are very excited about that.

Lots of times it cost's money to have fun, and this is one of those times. Like Jeff said, we are just paying the park for the dues.

Looks like you have a capable truck, and I would love to see it in action. I really like 4runners, had 5 of them. Hope you can make it to our 1st big party!

BTW, Do you know Eric Hagen? He is buddies with a bunch of us in CLC.. lives in Auburn.

This Eric Hagan guy just put in a rear Aussie Locker 2 weeks ago and received 35's this weekend. He's REALLY excited about breaking something at GrayRock now. But ICBM may come first for him with his buddies from CLC.

That being said there will be at least a few of us there that will be ready to do the realy stupid stuff as well. But as always there will be something for everyone and everyone is more than welcome.

The "Fist Annual" is always the hardest but we will do our best to make sure everyone feels welcome. Hopefully this will turn into a TLCA event but this year is a shakedown for all of us so bring what ya got and we will find something that is suited to you and your truck.

Only 3 months left so I guess I better get to work on my truck.

Thanks for the replies guys. I wasn't suggesting the club was making any money off of this, just that the trail fee is a lot higher than anywhere else I have been, but factor in that I can stay with the in laws and that I don't have to drive 250-300 miles then it's cheaper than the cost of going to Tellico or Tennessee. Or I guess I could bring my popup.

Are most people camping or staying at hotels?

I will be trying to make it, my wife is due with our first child around the end of October, so that may affect me.

dragr1, if there is something I can do during your special time at the hospital: like feed the dog and/or cat, water the plants, sprawl out on your couch and eat your cheetos (how'd that get in there?).
Hope you can make the ride though, you could join the ever growing caravan from Auburn.

If you can make this trip, you are the man.

Our core group will be camping. Our choir group will be staying in hotels :flipoff2: .

Hope you can make it.

Wife dropped a bomb on me today. This ride is on the same day as her class reunion  . I need some good excuses to get out of that one, so let's hear some!

I think it is on Saturday night, so maybe I could ride Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning? I'll have to see, the reunion is for Anniston, but for some reason it's in Gadsden? Not sure why she wants to go when she'll be 8 1/2 months pregnant? The doc may have something to say about that.

Maybe I'll just push my luck all together and go by Moody, AL and hijack my father in laws '78 FJ40, wipe the dust off of it and wheel that!

His is pristine. Red with a white top and almost completely restored, but the paint isn't perfect. It just sits in his basement and is driven maybe once a year. It needs a few things though, one spring is sagging and it has plenty of leaks. But it's one of the nicest ones I've seen.

Grey Rock

www.nocrybabies4x4.com has a bunch of good pics of Grey Rock. They had their June jam last month and have some good pics.

One of my buddies, Big Lunch with the white Heep, is a regular down there.

J.R.

Zoicks. Pretty hairy stuff boys.

They said everything has a go-around. Those are not the only trails out there. Barry, your truck can do more than you think.

If them Damn Heeps can do it we surely can! Bring lots of parts David! (for us too!)

Later,
