TPS compatability???

A friend needs a new TPS for her 89 4Runner. I don't have her part number in front of me but my 89 has 89452-28030, Does anyone know if 89452-20050 will work? The units appear to be the same...???

My 90 pickup is a 89452-14050 22RE......is yours 3VZ? Didn't think about that till just now....

Both mine and her's are 22RE's... the plot thickens... Does yours have a rounded plug? Ours are squared off.

That's not what I wanted to hear.... My guess is that any square-pugged TPS that will bolt on, will work... But it's hard to spend money on a hunch.... Hehee

I have a couple but 25-60 mile travel, one way minimum.....
What issues did the bad TPS give her?

The only consideration I see is when Toyota went from the old school TB to the newer design, the pawl that controls the TPS was moved 90*. If you look at the back side, and they are the same, then you might get away with it.

All of the resistance values are the same?

The problem with hers is that one of the connections inside is broken. I forget which. The truck still runs, but probably not like it should...
