This thing running yet?

Hey what are the plans for this truck? Gonna be a wheeler or DD or mall crawler or what? Just wondering if I'll get to see it at any events around the SE.

Edit: Kidding about the running bit. It seems like everyone always asks me if I'm done with my truck and I'm like... uh, I haven't started yet...

Just got home at 7:45 after another long road trip. Thanks to Johnny I now have the H55 I need to get this thing ready to finish. Its still a long ways off . Thanks again Johnny, and it was great to see Moonshine running.

Its definitely not gonna be a mall crawler. It is gonna be a daily driver and wheeler. What are these events you speak of ? Would love to start going to some if I can. On the way home today from Johnny's house, I spotted a red 60 going down the interstate. Its funny how once you start working on these things, how easy it is to spot them going down the road.

HA! Scratch all that. I see you are already on the TN forum. I'd just keep an eye on that forum and the GA, SC, etc ones. There are always rides going on. I believe the GA crew and SC crew post up their schedule for the whole year if you want to try to plan ahead.

No problem buddy, thanks for stopping by!!

Send me your address and I'll mail you the shifter knob as soon as I find it.

Got the old girl in the garage. Let the tear down begin:cheers: Attached Images

Well I got busy tearing the front end off. This is so I could take measurements for the diesel. It was a pretty productive day. Next is to get the new to me frame sand blasted and painted and then start cleaning the diesel and get it painted.

This is FL Cruisers avatar, was wondering if anybody knows if this is a stock toyota diesel emblem? Would like to find a couple if possible.

Or should I go to a dealership and ask for a diesel emblem, or one that reads "turbo diesel" would be great also.

I believe most if not all of the diesel emblems are disco'd. I'll check some different ones for you and see if I can find one that's available. If you need any Toyota parts for your build, I'd be happy to help you out. You'll save 25% off list and get free shipping on most things. It would be much cheaper than going to the dealership.

I found a fuel caution label for an old hilux. :meh:

74559-89101 $1.62

It's like a sticker though. Not an emblem like you have pictured. That one is disco'd for sure.

Thanks Sam, got some stuff in mind already,

Got some pictures of the frame that will be up for sale. Will take some more when the body is off. Which brings me to the next point. Anybody having any trouble getting body bolts out? Got all but two out and I have tried with a breaker bar and two air guns. There was a guy who sent me a PM asking about the frame but I can't remember his name and I erased the message. If you see this, PM me again.

Today was soooo nice that I got outside and did some sandblasting on my new to me frame. Here are a few pics. Built the cart to roll it around.

Great build!

But........I need more info on the Karmann Ghia. I have a 72 that I am starting to rebuild (after owning it for 20 years). I am in the middle of figuring out what I am doing with the front end sheet metal. The headlight areas are rotted, and the nose was hit a few times. I found the headlight sections, but now I found a complete front clip...not sure of my direction.

Hi Zack, that is my all original 62 Ghia. I've had her for awhile now and it is on the list for the next build. Never put a complete front end on one but I have put floor pans in a 65 Bug. Shouldn't be to bad. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Got a little more work done on old brownie. The old trans and t-case are out and gutted the inside. Also got the doors off and the rotten tailgate off with some work from my little helper. Will be using body panels and patch panels from brownie to make the red 60 like a new one.

Bluehawk, Great work! Looks like you have no problem taking on a project.

It's just a cheap generic Ebay emblem (shipped from Brazil) stuck below the stock emblem.
