Toyota Starter Rebuild Kit $39.95!!!!! Where do you get those copper slugs CHEAP?

I couldn't believe the new price for the starter rebuild kit at my local Toyo dealer...$20 per side, for 2 cents worth of copper!

Where can you get those slugs cheap, both online and in town?

I have got 2 sets of alt brushes, one at an auto zone and one at a schucks auto, both for under $10.... But now we're not friends anymore

Alt brushes, in the holder, are about $16 from Toyota.

$16 from the dealer sounds like the deal of the century. When more people start fixing their own alts (like they do starters), that $16 will turn into $40 real quick.

Surely the delta on the price of an ounce of copper doesn't warrant a 100% price increase, especially when the previous price was already almost 100% profit.

Surely, when thousands and thousands of a specific specialty part start getting sold in a relatively short period of time, some computer, somewhere, takes notice. Perhaps they just raised prices on everything across-the-board.

i looked for that rebuild kit dealer could not find it neither could i and i know how to use there computers
you can get a reman. starter from toyota for $90 with my discount i got it for $70
