Apparently Santa drives a RHD.

I guess it depends on the country

Speaking of the Toyota spring plates. I been working on some as I can’t throw stones mine are warped from the old rusty springs expanding and dented from rocks. Time to do something about it.

I never liked how that Toyota design hanging down would catch on rocks and mud. hitting a rock and breaking the bolt in your spring pack it will ruin your day. Here’s the plates on my 40.

I liked the look of this picture I found years ago it looks solid and sturdy so I thought I would give it a try. This should make less to hang up on under there. My 60 had brackets and rubber bushings on top of the spring plates that hugged the springs like that stock. So there shouldn’t be any big differences or issues it took manny manny years for rust to be an issue.

I made one of those saddles once for a 40...mootard maybe? Don't remember.

I bet someone with a big press brake could bend up a length of that profile and then you just cut to length and drill.

I kinda like the flip with the gm saddles for the rear. Actually works for 3 of 4, just passenger front thats a pain. Can still be made to fit apparently just some massaging required.

Ha, when I replied my phone wouldn't open the pics, didn't realize you'd made some.

They look good. Think they'll clear the speedbumps at the mall? :flipoff2:

Haha thanks!

Mall flexing on the grocery run, is it necessary? probably not but you sure look cool doing it

Who knew a little bit of rubber solved so many problems!

My Christmas present!

A friend of mine does high end restorations and got an FJ45 to do last year and it was finally nearing completion. He has never had anything to do with LandCruisers so asked if I would give him a hand with some finishing touches... chase down a few gremlins, a tune up on the fresh engine job, set the brakes and a few odds & ends. Turned into 4 days but THEN asked if I would take it on it's maiden voyage and test drive it before he has the owner over for the unveiling. It's was a dirty job but somebody had to do it!! :hillbilly:
The owner hasn't even seen it yet so just a teaser shot for now.

Happy new year all !!
I was really hoping to be there for the unveiling but missed a text so didn't get to see the look on the owners face but got some pictures a couple days ago of the truck completed. It was a real treat being able to be a tiny part in this project.
Have a rag handy to wipe up the drool.... enjoy.
