Anyone have an ICBC approved shop they would recommend?

Car ahead of me stopped suddenly on a green light. Unfortunately I didn’t react quickly enough. Their bumper went over mine. Took out the hood, one headlight, and the radiator. I’m hoping ICBC doesn’t try to write it off. Bastards they are.
...Fffffff....Fix auto.......

I’m also on vacation

Look up Rudy from Playa Del Coco and go for beers with him. He's on here ("green cruiser") maybe, can't remember at the moment.
Pura Vida!
We are in Coco, one more full day. I'll send him a DM...

Well, may have come across as a creepy stalker - radio silence 🤣🤣🤣😜.
Only Greencruiser was from Courtenay - no mention of CR - That's who I DM'd.

Ha. Think I found it... @bj40green ?
That sounds about right. He was running a B&B or something in Coco with his wife. A couple displaced Germans, sat and stuffed our faces with sushi and beer, lots of laughs and Land Cruiser talk. If you do see him, say Hello for me!
Cheers!

It has taken for ever… but ICBC finally gave me a quote. Little to no damage to the unibody. To replace the fender, headlight, hood, bumper cover, condenser and hoses, rad and rad supports…
$13,000

It’s the most ridiculous estimate I’ve ever seen. $1000 for two headlights even though one has no damage. $150 for an AC condenser… $900 for the hose to it.

I’m used to them going cheap… but I don’t understand their motives now.

@Rigpig do you still have a car trailer? What’s your rental rate?

I’m looking at a parts car to supply parts for mine, and it has a bad engine (or so I’m told).

I'm glad no one was hurt in this. Picture of the 80 with fire behind is pretty epic.

Apparently that build was taking forever and horrible quality. Super messy building site just waiting for accidents. So in that sense, no big loss.

In fact, I think that fire might be suspicious given interest rates and falling real estate. Just my two cents.

That’s Chris’s 80!

A couple guys I work with also know him. One guy I work with, years ago covered his dads car with bird seed and honey apparently to get back at his sister.

It's funny, there's a famous Nanaimo incident involving the Keg.
Supposedly the owner had FSBO as his license plate ...

I did a quick search and I almost get the impression that real estate folks don't appreciate "for sale by owner" and "fire started by owner" sharing an acronym.
