Now if home builders would start using a 8'X16' as the standard double garage door you could park one of these in a garage instead of baking out in AZ sun.

Wouldnt that be great ~

Right now I clear with about 1 inch to spare getting into my garage with the 80 :D. I think if I took off all my heavy armor, my truck would be too tall.

(but my gas mileage might improve?! :hillbilly:)

Mine lives in the garage, no sun bake over here. ;)

Thanks, Murf. :) Good price, and good service. The Nittos are definitely very round and very quiet. Oh, and very much taller than the 315 Wranglers.:smokin: The new rims are actually 8.5" wide, and I am still running my 1" spacers, so all bets are off on fender clearances. :crybaby: I also have the adjustable panhards adjusted to center the axles with the existing lift, so that may require adjustment to allow the tires to fit when stuffed. :hhmm: I am going out to Florence Junction Thursday with BLM, so that will be my first chance to stretch it out and see what fits and what not. I'm willing to bet that adjustments will be required. Even when the setups are the same, every rig is a little different, so you can't trust things to work exactly the same as someone else's setup. I still have a number of suspension mods I would like to do, but I will have to work thru them one at a time.:wrench: John

Round One, Field Testing, Complete! Bad news, Murf. :crybaby: I think I'm going to have to get rid of these tires. Don't let anyone else buy them. :censor:They roll over rocks WAY TOO EASY!!! :whoops:Takes all the work/fun out of wheeling. My casual cruising speed on trails like Cottonwood Canyon/Ajax Mine is up about 20%. :bounce::bounce2:

Flex/tested it on some boulders and found that I need to do a little trimming on both rear flairs, and I need to bump the adjustable pan hard rod about 3/16" to passenger to center the axle when stuffed. Previous owner must of thought it was better to center it when parked flat.

I am anxious to take it back out and test some more, especially on a bit more technical trails. JOhn

oh, and I have never seen John's truck so clean
Fixed it for ya!:hillbilly:

Ain't cheap, that's for sure. The 37's seem to be a big step up in price. Tire prices are pretty dynamic, seem to go up a lot more than down. Best price I could get was thru Camelback Toyota/Murf. He can shop prices for whatever tire brand/size you are interested in. John

For 5 new 37's, including everything but the price of the wheels, expect to pay $2000 to 3000, depending on which tire and which vendor. My price went up $21 each in the few days between pricing them and ordering them. If price is your determining factor, then stay with 315's, as they are MUCH less expensive, they are easier to make fit, and they do pretty darn good on the trail. If your totally in LUST for the 37's and have a "self-imposed need" for them, then buy them soon, as overall prices will not drop much anytime in your life, so get over it. Got to remember that 4wheeling is a hobby (expense), not a profit zone, so you can/will always spend more money than you have budgeted.

I have been following a number of threads concerning fitment/performance of 37's for about 2 years, so this was not an impulse purchase. I bought the used wheels months ago when I came across the best deal I had seen in quite a while. When I bought the 80 I figured the tires would last into 2013 if I didn't wheel them too hard. If you want exact prices for tires, then go online, or look in the 4x4 mags, or call Murf. I'm very glad I did. John

Did an unscheduled/unplanned test on the Nitto Trails today. Traveled to Young via Payson this am. Ran into freezing rain and snow south of the Sunflower Mine turnoff. Looked like 3-4" in Payson and 6-8" in Young. Lots of cars swapping ends and kissing the guard rails all over the place. Arrived in Young only 15 minutes late. Decided to avoid all the traffic by returning via Hwy 288 to Globe. We were the ONLY set of tire tracks for 35 miles of gravel and another 10+ of pavement. Great scenery, but a bit eerie when you drive into the clouds and can't see the road. Tires performed flawlessly, even when maneuvering to avoid other cars that have lost control. If I was going to drive a lot of icy roads, I would probably get them sipped.

Thanks CBT

Been fighting the 'bad ballast resistor' problem with my 74 FJ40.

I had extra parts around to test everything (coil, ballast resistor) and I think it's a bad ignition switch.

I called George at Camelback Toyota on Monday, part arrived Wednesday! The 'mud price was cheaper than anywhere else on the whole interwebs.

They shipped it for $6, cheaper than the fuel to drive there. Great work Murf and the crew at CBT!!!:bounce:

classic vehicle window tint option

We now carry the latest technology of clear window film. I wanted to tint my 40 to keep down the heat and UV but wanted to keep the classic clear glass look. Picture is with the film installed. (FYI - this 1982 window sticker says "tinted glass" so there was already a very light tint to the factory glass. This film adds a very light tint. If you have true clear glass, yours will look a little lighter.)

Comparison with 35% standard charcoal tint (front window AZ legal)

UL70 clear film: 40% heat (solar energy) rejection and 99% UV rejection.

HP35 Charcoal film: 53% heat rejection, 99% UV rejection.

Camelback Toyota has experienced window tinters on staff. If youre interested in either regular window tint or clear film, PM me.

p.s. - we also have the darker 20% or limo 5% for all glass behind the front side windows.

Thanks! Murf

I was searching for OEM parts suppliers and I landed in this thread. I've done business with some of the parts veterans on the boards, so am used to a pretty high level of service. I decided to give Kristal a try. I called her to place an order. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. She also had things priced right. She said I should have my stuff early next week. I'm looking forward to receiving it.
