Thanks for the actuators Jon. I received them yesterday and will try to get the door panel apart tomorrow. Hopefully these will work, I will post my results.

Is 2001 4Runner SR 100 series or 80 series

I bought a used 2001 4Runner SR recently and its front driver's side
door lock dosn't work with remote or switch on the door. Can only be opened
with key. I guess the little motor is broken. I read people are talking about
the motor for 100 o 80 series. I'm a newbie to car repairs. Is my

Neither. You have a 3rd generation 4 Runner. It is not a Land Cruiser. The 80 series is a Land Cruiser that was made between 1991 -1997. The 100 series is a Land Cruiser that was made between 1998-2007.

I do not know weather the actuators I sell will work but it's worth finding out. if you pull it out compare it to the pics in this thread. I know this actuator works with the Camry and Sequoia of certain vintages so it would make sense if it worked with the Runner.

One friend told me he had fixed the door lock for his
2002 4 runner using the FC-280PT-22125 motor.
He gave me a spare one. Yesterday I spent about
2 and 1/2 hours fixed mine 2001 4 runner.

The actuator for 2001 4 runner is exactly same
as the shown in Post #1 in

The motor inside the actuator is almost the same as
the FC-280PT-22125. Both have collars with the same
outside diameter but different inside diameter. That
means the FC-280PT-22125 motor with collar can be
used as is without any modification though the shaft
of the original motor has smaller diameter.

Assuming all 3rd generation 4 runners have the same
actuator/motor as in 2001/2002 4 runner, it seems
FC-280PT-22125 with collar is a perfect replacement for the door lock motor.

Thanks to all contributors on this forum. It saved me
~$450 (my mechanic's quote).
