No relation, just a link I followed from a M416 trailer group. Thought a mudder might be interested.

Toyota LD-10 Blizzard
This Japanese vehicle was imported direct from Japan.
It has approximatly 63,000 original miles.
Toyota four cylinder "L" diesel engine approx 2000cc.
4 speed transmission with 2 speed transfer case, Four Wheel Drive.
Vehicle was repainted and is in excellent condition.
Soft top very easy to remove.
Only know example in the USA.
$18,000.00

if it has been repainted then i would look for "japanese bodywork" aluminum tape with a thin layer of bondo...

other than that a cute little bugger...

Shortly there will be one in Canada....

we have this little guy arriving soon, 1980 Toyota Blizzard, 2.2 litre Diesel 4 speed manual high/low transfer case.

Original 57,000kms very tidy, underside is virtually rust free.

Very dusty in the photos.

will be around $13,000 Canadian with a BC title.

Can be sent into the US as it is genuinely 27 years old....

I think it's a funky little thing, I had one years ago in NZ, and they actually go really well, comparable to to Suzuki Samarui, but more agile and more torque from the diesel motor...

You need to add one of these to your collection Wayne

i will have to pass till i bust up a couple more wheeling rigs...

good luck in the sale...

Wayne,
NOT A SPOT OF BONDO on my Blizzard... sorry to disappoint you.

I have owned it for 16 years, I should know.

Marv Spector has seen it... I shipped it to his shop from Japan after
I bought it.

Lance, thanks for the link..

James, good luck on the sale.. it will only make mine worth more!!
One question, is the top original? it looks different than mine, but mine
is a hard door model.
Good find in Japan!! Pretty rare in that condition.

Regards,
Steve

Steve,
i do not know the history of this unit so why would i say it HAD bodywork? i said "check for japanese bodywork".
anytime you are buying a vehicle then check for previous bodywork as a precaution, just common sense and good advice.

cheers and peace

Looks like Diahatsu rebadged these puppies as late as 1982 for the S.A. market.

Looks similar to a suzuki LJ10 or 20 as well.
Suzuki started making them in the early 60's.

Funny enough I am selling my cruiser to go to a suzuki LJ. :)
Already got one lined up (newer LJ truck) that I will probably get.

I used to have one (LJ80 softop) and really miss it.
It gave my cruiser a good run in the offroad.
Bigger is not always better. They are like a quad. They go anywhere.

The toyota looks like real fun rig.
Where they really rare?
Hard to get, and get parts for? Drivetrain body panels etc?

Cheers,
Nick

Anyways, here is a pic of a LJ10:

And the newer LJ80 (hardtop) built a little. (only 30" tires on there too. :) )

I also wonder if the engine is like a 2LT.
The 2LT would be a super motor in a little rig like that.
I doubt you would ever crack a head with something so light.

I like those lil rigs...the early zuks are 2 stroke right?

Yeah. A 2cyl 398cc 2 stroke.
The LJ10 was air cooled (34hp) and the LJ20 was water cooled (36hp).
They sound like a snowmobile.

I have offroaded a LJ10 for a weekend at a zuk meet last year.
Has no (and mean zero) tourque below 3000 rpm, good thing its crawl ratio is 60:1 and revs to 8000rpm. A big contrast to my diesel. But SO MUCH fun to wheel with no doors and windshield down.

I prefer the LJ80 (sold in Canada) with the 4cyl 800cc 4 stoke.
It has way better power (45hp) and way way better torque.
They are 4 inches wider the a LJ10 (54" wide and 76" wheelbase for a LJ80).
They fit in the back of a full size truck!

In fact, I am selling my cruiser, and already lined my next suzuki up.
I will daily drive it again. I miss mine. and have decided to downsize to save money.
I can't think of a better cheap rig. If the blizzards were cheaper and I would get one.

I would really like a diesel. I am also curious how parts are?
Lots of cross over? Or hard to get?
I am sure they would offorad like a LJ.
I am sure it would give rigs like mine and others a run for thier money.
My friends LJ's always do!

Cheers,
N.

Also, sorry to hijack this thread.
I am done now. :)
