Excellent EPC download/install instructions

I haven't tried these instructions yet (only one seed for my download, so still waiting), but having these a few days ago would have saved me some WTF head-scratching time...

http://alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27513

Of course, these exact instructions probably don't apply to all versions of the EPC, but they certainly make it quite clear the general idea.

Cheers,
Chris.

here are the torrent links to those instructions. including the instruction videos i created.has 19 seeders torrent can be found here 2004 version

update i finally got the Toyota Microcat Live 2010 to work still kinda tricky to figure out how to use it .
i am pretty sure this is the program the dealers are using now.
it is kinda neat ,during setup you can select what vehicles you only want to install and what regions or markets you want to install .
if there is an interest in this i might be able to post the torrent and crack links .
here is a pic of the user interface. :grinpimp:

Wow! I'm interested, I just finished installing the 2007 EPC that you had made the torrent for and works great, now this one looks killer!

its a little tricky to use still ,
i have been using both EPC's and cross referencing #'s back and forth between the two programs .

Hi pbgbottle,

I'm getting this error msg every time I try to use the EPC now. I get to the diagram I want and when I press 'next' the EPC locks and I get that error msg and I have to go back to the menu ... Any idea what may be causing it ?

Lost the disc I got from you, so I can't reinstall.

:meh:

Thanks,

Alf

not to sure your install is probably corrupt. do any of the other vehicle models work .

you could try changing regions and see if that helps .but who knows.
something is corrupt. :bang:

Seems to be most prominent on 40-series Land Cruiser, but happens on all models...

Happens on other regions, too.

The Gov't is corrupt, but that's prolly not the problem:D

:meh:

I have an older system, but can you still pull up 80s land cruisers on the newer versions?

K

looks like your going to need to do a fresh install.
that would be my best suggestion.

.......now to find the disc.

update i finally got the Toyota Microcat Live 2010 to work still kinda tricky to figure out how to use it ....

count me in!!! please let me know when the torrent Microcat is up!

how does this compare to the 2010 EPC program (have that one installed right now, including all regions)

Well, found the disc, re-installed. Same problem.

Uninstalled all components. Reinstalled... FIXED !

Just in case anyone else has this problem.

Let me know if you get the newer/est version. I'll even put it on perma-seed on one of my servers!

I was hoping someone could help me with my EPC install. I’m running Windows XP and I can’t get the install to work.

I picked up a DVD that is supposed to have everything I need loaded. The Readme.txt file says to run the setup.exe, copy three folders to the root directory on the hard drive, and then it is ready to run. Apparently there are a couple more steps.

When I run the setup I set all the drives to c:

After install and copying the folders, I check the initial setup and all looks well – radio buttons for both Europe and Japan are active. After doing the CD Setup, only one of the radio buttons is active - whichever one was set initially.

So I move to the CD Setup and try adding the appropriate A1, A2. This is where it fails. The EPC software asks for the proper disk to be installed. Of course I don’t have the A1, A2 disks because everything is on DVD which has been copied to the hard drive.

I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every possible install/setup combination – with no success. I even remembered I had a Japanese copy of the EPC that I got from my sister-in-law that I could never get to install. I found those disks and sure enough the set included the A1, A2 CDs. When I chose to add the Japanese A1 and inserted the Japan A1 disk, I got the ‘copying files’ message briefly, then the ‘insert correct disk’ message.

Anybody have any suggestions? I can provide more details if needed.

Thanks
Tom

delete everything on your drive pertaining to the EPC ,
forget about running the setup until later .
copy those three folders directly to your C:drive .
and your done.
then run the setup it will say program already exists do you want to upgrade say yes let it do its thing and the program should be good to go
don't touch any info on the button that says CDsetup i think it has a # 7 beside it . thats it

how much info is on the disc . do you need to use winrar to extract anypart of it .?? these instructions below (video) are a bit different to what i just told you to do above ,but it should help you out

see here - I love that FJ40 in this video :grinpimp:

You're awesome man. It worked great - sure wish the readme file would have given the correct directions so I didn't waste hours trying to get it loaded.

Now I just need to figure out how to use it.

:beer::beer::beer::cheers:

Thanks for the help

Okay, I have the 2010 version down. (and seeding)

I am a bit confused on the install... Can I install manually like you said above or is there a shortcut. I'd love to be able to have the NA and JDM markets at the same time, plus the frame info.

Any help would be appreciated.
