I have one connected at all times now i ordered the third unit and I am going to split the cable so i can install the unit in the glove compartment

As opposed to securing it in the engine bay? My current plan involves plugging it in and using zip ties to secure it. I have an android head unit with app already installed, and plan to just leave it plugged in. I guess I should think of a more long term securing solution, as well as a 'prettier' one.

Engine bay is too hot (at least in the hot desert) i had the old previous model obd1read for 2 years and it died the last trip and i installed Toyocom instead
Do you have the toyocom in the engine bay? Does it seem to hold up to the heat?

It can be used in universal mode for the 3FE. Jean-Francois told me to let him know when mine arrived so he can help me.

Quick update. Mine arrived and I plugged it in. Couldn't get it to connect to my android head unit. It gets found and listed under bluetooth devices, just never seems to connect. I tried it on my old android tablet, and voila! It will connect with that. Just spent about 20mins tinkering in my truck because I really want it to be displayed on my head unit and not have to have a separate device with me to use this ,but still can't get it to connect. Will keep investigating and see if I can get it to connect. Was nice getting to graph performance on my drive home and finally have a real time temp reading since I haven't installed a separate temp sensor in my truck yet.
That kind of sucks. I was planning on installing and leaving it installed. I kind of thought that was the idea. I wish they made it with a few feet of cord so you could locate it some place else if the heat damages it.
Got mine yesterday, has anyone had any luck getting to to hook up to a andriod head unit? It would be nice to not have to get a phone/tablet mount.

No luck with my headunit here. It can't upgrade past 4.4.4, so I'm wondering if that's an issue? I can see toyocom listed in bluetooth devices in settings, but can't get it to connect through the app or through its settings. Working great on my tablet though. Has made me discover a possible issue with my bank 1 o2 sensor, which could explain some other issues I'm having. It stays at +20 lean for 5-15 minutes before starting to give an accurate reading. The bank 2 sensor seems to start reading within moments.

I found my bluetooth transmitter was interfering with my signal from the Toyocom. I have one of these that transmits from my phoneiPad to my stock receiver. I can run both if I have my Android phone near the ashtray or to the passenger side of the console. Works without a hiccup if it has clear signal.
Mine's having connection issues also. Reached out to Jean-Francoís and waiting to hear back.
