So we may be going to look at the M100 tomorrow, besides the obvious, anything that should make it a walk away, and given the current condition, what is a reasonable price, because if the one you got from Dustin was $700 +/- at $400, this one seems high. The tailgate looks like it is still there, but looks pretty mangled.

I mean it will for sure be a project, just dont want it to be more work than I'm interested in overseeing.

Dustin paid $350 for his.

Yep, so we may not be going to look at the m100 tomorrow then. Based on that, I'm going to need that one to be a good bit cheaper. Erin is in negotiations on the FB. I am ok with making the run tomorrow to pick it up, but not at the current list price.

Dustin’s was a steal at that price. The one in TN needs some stuff but if looking to learn and play I think $350 range is reasonable. Look up the price of the stuff it is missing and that may help negotiate. They will all need new tires and bearings also.

A seriously bent frame or frame rust would kill it for me. Also check the spring mounts and springs for rust. The spring packs will swell and take odd shapes if the rust is very bad. Good luck.

More details when (if) I get them home

It got dark on me so pics will have to follow tomorrow when it's light out, but I made a run to Chattanooga today. So these are from the guy that @AndyO78FJ40 linked above. Turns out the ad was for 2 trailers for $400 bucks. The one on the front of the trailer is the one that was in the pics and is pretty complete. The foot came with and a strange arrangenent with a ball hitch welded to the remains of the old pintle ring. Other than the tailgate being bent to he'll, it looks to be solid. The second one is a basket case. The guy pulled the tub off and started working on it, but it is in pretty rough shape. The rolling chassis is in pretty good shape other than the 15" wagon wheels somebody stuck on it. So plan currently, based on initial impressions, is that the more complete one will get some TLC and will get built into the camp wagon. I will have to do a formal inspection of all the bits and pieces when I get them unloaded and report back with more pictures.

Pretty sure the front one is an M100, but the back one has me a little confused. It has round fenders and a tailgate making me think it is also a 100, but it has an odd side panel at the back with some reflectors that are throwing me, and also has 3 stake pockets along the lip on each side at the top. The build tags are gone from it and I realize those might be add-ons from another previous life, because I haven't seen any pictures with that rear panel exactly like it. Maybe when I post some more pics you guys can offer some opinions.

@jynx tbe rear one looks to be an early Bantam trailer. Different lights and factory cut tailgate.

Damn @jynx you did good. $400 for both those was a good deal. Wish I knew there were 2 and I would have tried to haul them home when I was in Nashville for my meeting...I agree the second one looks like a bantam. Let me know if you want to get rid of the basket case.

After unloading them this morning, I believe you guys are correct, the basket case is a Bantam and the other one is a 100.

The basket case frame looks pretty solid. The tub is decent, but the bottom of it is pretty far gone. Not sure what we will do with it, but if we decide to part with it @AndyO78FJ40 you got right of first refusal.

Here are a few pics of the BC.

This one will be a bit of an undertaking to get sorted, but not impossible.

I'll get some pics of the 100 up shortly.

The 100 is actually complete, just not whole. The Jack foot and hitch came with, but are not attached. The back was torched off and some barn door hinges welded to it to make a gate. It was not reinforced and has a nice bow in it for its trouble. This is the one that Erin currently has eyes for. It needs just enough, but not soo much that it will loose her interest. Currently need to go thru the bearings decide whether to weld the rear back up solid or fix it up as a nice usable tailgate. Then to decide if we want to extend the hitch and if so how much.

It looks like it was used to haul asphalt at some point. I gueas I need to see about finding some tail lights for it too.

Couple More.

This guy most have been president of the Safety Third club. It is welded to the old pintle ring...

The foot looks complete but I havent tried to flip it to see if it is frozen up or not.

She said something this morning about doing an SOA on it. Is that a thing with these trailers?

Kinda what I was thinking. She said she wanted it to not have trouble getting towed off the beaten path, and I was like, anywhere we drag it will be a cake walk compared to what it was designed to handle... It is military surplus after all.

I’m a buyer of the cut-off lunette if you don’t use it.

Great purchase!
