Which one is the 1/4 ton? the one in TN? I am not real familiar with designations of the m101 series. I would like it to be lite so I can pull it on rare occasion with 4Runner.

I am wanting similar set up. I would want a top hinged on left or right side with padding for canoe/kayak
Then the top bars high enough for a RTT with annex if I decide to go in that direction.

The ones like this. They were made under several designations over about 40 years but they are all basically the same. The military rates them as 1/4 ton which is supposed to be their safe off road cargo weight capability. Double that for on road use. Those ratings, however, are very conservative. These little 4' x 6' trailers are tough.

I thought the 1/4T designation was related to flotation rating of these trailers for water crossings. Either way Bossman is right, and I'll add that the Canadian M101 and the US M416 are very similar, with most of the Canadian varieties being of newer and stronger construction.

The 3/4T trailers are the US M101A series and roughly 2X bigger, though I have towed one that had a rack and RTT fairly easily in my FJC.

The newest kid on the block is the aluminum tub M1101/1102 series, as noted above, and is fairly tall and more squarish in dimensions.

You could come get this mini truck by me get a latter rack tie dog in back and peel out. $4k still cheaper than that trailer in GA. Same as your 4Runner...

Slight cosmetic damage mardis. But that s*** will buff right out :)

I bet there are no jap trailers left from the WWII era. That US metal was top grade stuff. Thanks but your a better project guy than me.

The Spec Ops trailer has to be built. It comes on a pallet and lots of little pieces.
