The common old school solution was to slap a bunch of layers of dynamat down everywhere.... however the best performing solutions use a variety of materials to address the source and type of noise you are trying to reduce.

They sell a full kit for the Land Cruiser at around $750.

I'll second sounddeadenershowdown.com 'kit.' I'm about 95% through on my '96.
 
I also have a 40th anniversary model and looking to repaint soon. Have you sourced the side logos ? I want to repaint and have the original look with 40th logos.

PS subscribed.... Great looking rig.

I didnt source the OEM 40th logos as I am planning to use these instead:

All this and going to take it wheeling? Or all this and never getting it off road? The truck is amazing, and I'm sure it will look and drive great. But an amazing looking boat in dry dock?
Maybe I'm just being envious. I wish I had 10% of the budget. Great project for sure.

Amazing job. You mentioned carpet kit from Dan. Will you please share info for him? I wonder if those door handle gaskets you mentioned can be replicated. I haven't seen one uninstalled, but I can't imagine they're very complex.
 
@cbpeck- Dan works at American Toyota in Albuquerque, New Mexico. You can Google the Dealership and then ask for the parts dept. I spoke with him yesterday and there are a few oak carpet sets still available in the US. I am not sure if the door handle gaskets can be replicated. Since mine are in pretty good shape we will just paint them with flexible paint.

@foeix- I cant find Black Pearl Emblems so we have to go with Silver. If you know of a good source I would pay top $ for them :)
 
Good news... Bob a member here agreed to send me his 40th Anniversary Floor mats. I am going to try and see if I can get my upholstery shop to replicate a couple new sets based off the original design.....

I had to send in measurements for the 80. The measurements were very close to the 100 series though so would probably be about the same kit.

FYI, the factory deadener material on my floor was in fine shape and left it. It reduced the amount of tiles needed.
 
This is an in depth project and not one for a timid billfold. This will be one beautiful truck when he's finished.
 
They make a black oearl spray paint in rattle can. Have you painter spray some clear over it and you'll be very hard pressed to tell this from OEM.
 
@fireball.... Can you give me a link to the black pearl paint and we will try it?
