On the right truck I would do that. No more parking lot door dings
I assume the top bars move when have to check your oil.....or are Land Cruisers so reliable you never worry of such things?
Jason ( @reevesci ) has been building a few 70 series bumpers. Maybe he'd like to
tackle this one.

I hope to have a long term 70 donor (6-8 weeks) coming in soon. I have been sketching 70 front grill guards for about 5 months. I have one very similar to that and it trails down to bolt onto a slider rail.

I like the bumper Dave, need to call you next week to go over something with you.

We plan on having them done next week. I have four long channels available right now. I'll need to bring in more 1/4" for more channels then have
them broke. We're looking a two to three weeks at best for the second run

I don't know about the fit, but I'd love one (with spot for an 8274) on my 1975 FJ55

Where were all the 55 buyers when I used to make 55 bumpers...I think Man-a-fre eventually tossed a front bumper. They just wouldn't sell.
My 55 in Baja...Mine was shorter by three 3" per side but same general shape

@lcwizard : Dave, I'm in the long-slow process (simply due to limited funds) of rebuilding my decades-ago purchased FJ40 (which as long been near & dear to me), and expect to purchase a number of your products (I'm already knowing which ones) once closer to completion (with strong hope within a year or so). I can't wait !!

Regarding your front bumpers w/ the bull-bars : I'm overly curious how the upper bars of your various products (including the one you're presenting to us here) affect the path of light, from the headlights to the ground and area in front of the vehicle. I'm believing all such bull-bars would affect the path of headlight in one way or another (either adversely or not much at all). On your various products, are strong shadows created per individual product type? Will you please advise naïve me (and the others here) on this, with your experiences and logic behind the extent of bull-bars potentially affecting the path of headlight?

As a side note, I'll be one to also run classic-type fog lights on such a bumper/bull-bar, but they would of course not be illuminated at all times of needed headlight. Thanks in advance for your words, ~Marc

It's hard to tell from the driver's seat as to whether a bull bar design, mine, ARB's or any other actually affect the light path in a way that
is annoying. I've also run ARB bars on a 60. From the front they look like they could impede but I couldn't tell real world driving. On the plus side, if it does impede your light path and something runs out in front of you and you hit it, you won't have to do as much body work

To resurrect this thread, thought I would post pic what I bent up today.
Based on lcwizards epic design which I have on the truck, I enlarged it some for more deer coverage using 1.75. Will probably add couple vertical 1" bars or fencing in big hoops.

@jm599 nice twist on an old design. I still love the grill guard. I just put it back on the site again. Shipping has always been an issue. Because the guard is right at 60" wide the box is a bit over 60. An oversize charge comes in after 60 with the ground guys. It's an extra 60.00 if the box is 61" rather than 60. I've been caught a couple times trying to sneak it by as 60". If they catch it they back charge my account. I can't really go back to the customer and ask for more. I'll probably have to shorten it a 1/2".... I know worrying about that 1/2" seems a little OCD but I liked it how it was. The new design however, is definitely a truck freight item
