Looking for the torque converter plug location on my 99 cruiser. Looked online and on mud forum without luck. Can anyone assist with location via pic or diagram? Thanks in advance!

The solenoids are inside the transmission. You have to remove the pan to get at them.Im looking for the solenoid.
Attempting to narrow down cause of my cruiser pulsating vs gentle surging while driving at constant speed. Why?
I was under the assumption it was more of an electrical plug, but you are probably correct.Old Ford C6 transmissions had drain plugs, but I have never seen a Japanese vehicle with one. The plug allows you to get a lot more fluid out of the converter during a fluid change, but that can be accomplished other ways.
Try manually shifting. See if any change!Attempting to narrow down cause of my cruiser pulsating vs gentle surging while driving at constant speed.
Couldn't this be a fluid level / fluid condition thing? Do you know the maintenance history of your transmission / fluid changes?Attempting to narrow down cause of my cruiser pulsating vs gentle surging while driving at constant speed.
I will try that, thanks!Try manually shifting. See if any change!
I read on a different forum that low transmission fluid could cause vibrations. I’ve been doing the fluid changes on the cruiser since I’ve owned it, about 10 years, including the transmission fluid. I drive maybe 8k miles per year, so sometimes there’s a decent amount of time in between transmission fluid changes, but I’m not sure that would negatively affect it…but I could be wrong!Couldn't this be a fluid level / fluid condition thing? Do a bit of a search on the forums, I forget the exact procedure but you want to get it up to temperature before checking ( I think ) plus try whatever 2001lc is suggesting to help narrow it down.
Does the pulsating happen when idling in "P"?Attempting to narrow down cause of my cruiser pulsating vs gentle surging while driving at constant speed.
For sure...Yeah Ive been lucky not to have any transmission problems on the 100 series but I know the symptoms you described could be something torque converter related for sure but since we have a very low failure rate ( not sure if anyone has reported a torque converter lock up / function problem here ) Id start simple and check fluid levels. Sounds like you've got experience in that department.I read on a different forum that low transmission fluid could cause vibrations. Good suggestion about checking the fluid level, appreciate the advice.
Sounds like A/T fluid drain & fills. One issue doing these, and any done before by PO (unknown ATF). Is what ATF used. We can end up with mix of fluids, which is not good. Also important, is how and at what A/T fluid temp level is set.I read on a different forum that low transmission fluid could cause vibrations. Not that I can feel or tell.Does the pulsating happen when idling in "P"?
