I removed my top for the first time today and want to start working on the weatherstripping. I have a 67 FJ40 and you can see by this picture that the PO did not remove the top when they painted the rig. Nice eh?

What I want to do is use weatherstripping to cover up the edges it but I noticed the OEM stripping is for 72 and later models. Would this work on my 67?

im scared to take my top off this summer i know it hasnt been off in 15 years....
 
I don't believe Toyota ever used the hardtop to tub weatherstrip until 1973. They only used the packing, which you can see in the first photo.

In theory though could you put it on an earlier model?
