to tint or not to tint

just got tint on my hj60, it is great during the day, but a little too dark at night. I think they installed 20%

previously we had installed tint on another 60 and that job was much better-- had 20% in the back sides and the rear window, (35%?) on the backseat windows, then something like 50% on the front seat windows (which was technically illegal).

I like the coolness and the harder to see into-ness of it, but as other have said- it bites at night. Install an auxiliary backup light and that will help.

My vote is no tint. I just like the stock look better.

Tint - In texas it a must. I have the back window as dark as the law allows, and the fronts are a shade lighter.

If you tint be sure to check your local laws. I was driving a friends truck last year and I got a ticket for having tinted windows. The worst part was the ticket was given to me- not my friend who owned the truck! We have some stupid laws here in California.

I dont know if this local to me or california wide but for me it is illegal to do anything to the front windows. I believe this is statewide because that what the guys in Sacramento said._Dylan

Tinted when I bought it. Like it, but it's freakin' purple! In NC, you have to pay additional each inspection for them to test the tint, which kinda sucks....

In chicago, you cant have any tint on the front two windows.... could be all of IL?? I am for the tint for Security issues,,,,,anyone can break in and steal stuff out of my car, Im just trying to weed out those "crime of opportunity" people who see tools/gear/etc, and jump at the chance.

I got mine done at a shop. With something like that i think it is better to have some sort of warranty. The brand that the shop used in my casse was SunTek.
