Sorry to foul up this thread...

GTSSportCoupe, if you don't mind, Please see this thread. I need some help if you don't mind.
I tried to message you but it said I cannot start a conversation with you?

I responded in your thread. All you have to do is write @ in front of my handle in your message and it'll alert me.

I turned off conversation as I prefer to help in the forums where it can assist others - sort of the whole idea. With the 2LTE I was becoming many peoples personal 'technical support' go to. Now if I was getting paid for it....that would be ok, lol. But it was way too much to keep up with.

Wonder what that cutting job that had this as leftovers was?

Fairly cheap for clean steel chunks tho.

Guy finally got back to me. Figgered I'd grab myself a couple if anyone wants some let me know. He's just around the corner from me.

And I'm totally stealing this idea from Bradford. Probably with a less cool vise tho.

So this just posted today. To be honest, it’s got a crappy build etiquett.
Let’s see where it goes. NO RESERVE
Well, weirdly enough it sold for $9800. I guess it could easily be recovered back to being a toyota. Body was good enough.
Sell the parts and stuff to recover money and cheapen the initial cost.

Land rover V8, some people have no taste. Good luck finding cheap parts too. People trying to re-invent the wheel. POS

Saw and watched this one. Sketchy welds on the engine & tranny mount fabrication from the photos. Easy enough to put something decent in there, like a 1uz, or supercharged 5vz even to keep it toyota, if not a unicorn toyota diesel...

Apparently he was making flanges for a ventilation system. So nothing too exciting.

Well, here's an interesting deal. So far bid seems pretty low for a pretty truck. Have to see where this one ends up.

Ok, fwee Wodewick, weweese Bwian!?

Custom rock sliders. Factory JDM roof rack and Safari snorkel. Mechanically the vehicle is in very good condition with regular maintenance done using either Toyota factory parts or reputable after market components suck as Beck Arnley, Terrain Tamer, Timken, Koyo, etc. No Mexican or Chinese bearings! Engine is running strong and not burning oil. Automatic transmission does not slip in any gear. There is a spare automatic transmission included in the sale. Rebuilt items in the last 5 years include front and rear differentials and transfer case. Front differential knuckle components replaced with low mileage, newer ones due to wear on seal surfaces. Components like wheel bearings and drive shafts, serviced and inspected regularly (once or twice a year depending on use) and rebuilt as necessary. Cold start glow element in the intake stopped functioning but it starts with no issues even in -15C. If you are going into really cold regions, it should be replaced. Frame is solid with no cracks and only surface rust. Rear channel (a common rust issue area) is solid. Body is showing signs of age and rust. The following areas have rust that consists of small holes and requires patching but is still structural: parts of the rockers, front part of rear wheel wells, bottom of a few doors, bottom of rear quarter panels, bottom rear corners of the front fenders. The areas are repairable and would require cutting and welding of new material. Nothing has been patched, bondo or filler covered, so this truck has not been hacked, or butchered in any way. Electrical system, a couple power locks are not engaging anymore, they still work manually. Power windows and sunroof. Overall interior is clean but a little tired. Dash has minor cracks, both front seats are factory suspension seats! Crack in the windshield. The truck has been used off-road and as a reliable daily driver, it’s not a princess and the paint finish reflects that. It is a very well maintained truck with a history of receipts and work done. It is a good candidate for a restoration if you want to remove the rust and replace it with proper steel patching, or use it as is and patch (or not) as you desire. If you don’t know what this is, do some research before asking. If you know what this is, you know what it’s capable of, how rare it is and what it’s capable of. It is priced to reflect the needed body work. Asking $25,000CAD.,380000 km

Cool rig… too rich for my blood. I miss when a 380k rig was $1500. I remember even seeing a drivable diesel 60 for $600.

Everything's expensive now: houses, all cars, food....etc. Or perhaps money is just becoming worth less faster than most realize. The world is changing. I paid $3500 for my hurting LJ78 ten years ago now. Same sort of thing goes for three times as much now.

I have a lot of friends who are just a bit older than me, and were able to buy houses in Victoria around 99-2000 or so. They spent on average about $180k. I bought a house seven years later and I've paid $575k in mortgage payments over the last 15 years. I still owe $240k on the principle. So not even to the point my friends started at... Heh, and it's an un-updated average 80s house.

Being just a bit older and getting into the market early is like having won the lottery IMHO. I can only dream of the nice shiny vehicles I could have bought with the extra hundreds of thousands I'll have spent on my house. Those older generations are the ones with cash for toys. And it's even worse now for the younger generations. Most will never own a house unless the market corrects.

Not sure how that turned into such a rant....lol. Jealous I guess. I'll just keep my old cars rolling....

Sounds familiar. First house in 2000 for 160k —> sold 215, next in 2002 for 250k sold 400, 330 (Toronto) —> 360 (after 30k into it), in 2008 for 590k (current home). Meanwhile all the cars are getting older… Our ‘New’ Prius is 14, Ambo is 25, and Fj40 is 48… all are going strong and hopefully will all last another 10-50 years.

Somehow I think the oldest will outlast the others. :D It doesn’t have any computers or tech that will make the car obsolete if they fail and replacements are NLA. The 7.3 will become a brick if it’s computer fails and they are NLA… and for some crazy reason the Prius has 5 computers. Both frequently go 500-1000k miles… but time will tell.

This auction is Wednesday. Would be interesting to see where the bidding goes. I’m going to
put in an early bid. Really wish they had sold these single cabs more often in Canada. They are really
common all over the US.

Yeah it's fairly nuts. My assessment was up 46% this year. And that's after it going up by 42% in 2019, with a few 25% years scattered around.

Good scam those ****ers have. " we see you've done a lot of work to your house. We're going to charge you more now. " Didn't see them out there swinging a hammer or pulling broom... :shifty:

We bought our first house in 05. Should have started sooner, but I was too busy being a young dumbass

Even so, at the time we were trying to stay under 200k, and at first there were lots to look at around 180k.

2 months later the cheapest house in the areas we were looking at was 230. s***ty little house on a half decent acre. Lived there for 10 years to the day, and moved to this place where everything is too big. House, shop, yard. Everything.
