Hello
I have a 2001 100 and currently running LT286/75R16's, totally stock / factory rims.
Wondering who has experience running LT315/75R16's
my wells look like they have so much room still.
With (at bare minimum) new rims what am i looking at in terms of rub and power loss etc?

It's not only about the amount of space you have above the wheel that matters. Sooner or later you have to go right and left.

not to mention that at least with stock offset, you have very little clearance left with the upper spindle/ball joint. add on spacers or different wheel offset, you start introducing even more wheel well clearance issues when turning.

Forgetting everything about spacing, running is 315 on an 8" wheel is a bit much.
And this isn't just for us but on ALL cars/trucks.

If you want to go wider you have to get aftermarket "wider" wheels.

On stock offset wheels, of more offset? And which bump stops did you go with? I'm running stock wheels, Freedom UCA's and 1" spacers right now. Hoping to make the jump from 295's to 315's if its not too problematic.

*I should clarify that is my educated guess on what the most minimal/inexpensive mods would be needed in order to fit 315's the easiest*

I would just hammer the pinch welds and put the 315's on. The only place you should be worried about contact is the top of the tire/fender. So don't go doing any sick jumps right out the gate. Maybe just need to clearance the inner fender a little bit. Maybe you'll need bump stops, maybe not (I like my Perry Parts bumps). Put the tires on and you'll see what needs to happen.

If your spacers are the more common 1.25" then gaining a 1/2" of clearance at the fender lip with a 3/4" spacer might be very beneficial. Reducing the travel on a 100 with already poor front travel is a bad idea IMO.
