@gaijin, lets pretend that there is a 2018 LX570 running LT305/55R20/E 121/118S Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires, and that it weighed 7600 lbs. What would the recommended pressure be?
What about at 8,000 and 8,500 lbs?

I addressed this in the past. I do not give recommendations for anything over the GVWR of the vehicle.

It is unwise to believe that simply by addressing the tire pressure, one can somehow magically increase the capacities of axles, brakes, shocks, springs, gears, transmission, or any individual component of the suspension and/or drive train.

So, the RCTIP for your hypothetical 2018 LX570 running LT305/55R20/E 121/118S Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires is 36psi F/R. That is good for all vehicle weights up to and including the GVWR of 7,385 LBS.

And... you would be wrong - that is, if you mean for use on your LX570. You would be correct for an LC200, however.

The simple answer is because the LX570 has a different suspension system than the LC200. Tires play an important role in the operation of the suspension system. Toyota engineers have chosen different tire Load Limit requirements not only to adequately handle the load, but also to provide the desired tire spring rate to optimize performance of the entire system.

Short answer is the RCTIP for LT285/70R17 on an LX570 is 35psi F/R.

Slightly longer answer:

OEM Load Limit for P285/50R20 @ 33psi = 2,315 Lbs

Since going to an LT-Metric tire from a P-Metric tire, 2315 / 1.1 = 2,105 Lbs

Required psi to reach 2,105 Lbs with an LT285/70R17 is 35psi.

The RCTIP (Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure) for the LT275/55R20/D 115/112S BFG All Te3rrain T/A KO2 tires on your 2016 LC200 (NOT LX570) is 51psi F/R.

That RCTIP is good for all weights up to the vehicle/trailer/tongue limits set by Toyota.
