TIA

Sorry, I only do recommendations for LC200/LX570.

If the Falken tires are for your 2010 LC200, do you mean the LT275/65-18 or 275/65-18 version.

Thanks for the reply. My 2010 has the standard 275/65-18 version. Stephen

Hello Gaijin-san,

Fascinating thread-- greetings from England. Am from Vermont but wondered across the pond 35 years ago.. and how have FJ40. FJ80 and HDJ100. My daily driver and long-hauler is 2006 HDJ100, ARB front steel bumper, PIAA's, ripped out problematic pneumatic suspension (oh those bloody sensors!) for OME, replaced discs and pads with EBC Yellowstuff and heading for Scandinavia for winter. I am running Nokian Hakkapeliitaa R2 SUV 275/60/18. (Been using Hakka's in VT and Switz. for more than 25 years--fantastic!). I have been using 2.5/ 2.6bar f/r. I spoke with Nokian (Finland) and asked their recommendation as I always felt way too much sidewall deflection at 'recommended - in the door' (2.2bar f/r). I am fairly gear loaded and drive 18h non-stop from London to Copenhagen and all "autobahn" driving at around 110-125kph. Do you suggest I go up in pressure as well given weight ca. 2600kg? Nokian suggested up at least 10% to compensate for winter temp and a bit more given so much highway driving. Thoughts appreciated as I take tire pressure very seriously (have Longacre digital guage and portable compressor)-- this can save your life!

Sorry, but I only recommend pressures for 200 Series LC200/LX570.

What pressures would you recommend for an LC200 with BFG KO2 in LT305/65R18/E 124/121R. I will not be carrying any extra weight as of now.

how about 09lx with 285/50/20 Blizzak dm2?

If you mean the Blizzak DM-V2 in size 285/50R20 116T XL, then the Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure is 34psi F/R.

Hi again, The Nokian Hakka SUV R2 275/60/18 have max pressure 47psi (1180kg) which is 3.7bar. I hope I can safely assume that 2.6 bar (37psi) is well within winter safe range and also providing good sidewall stability for long distance (1000 miles non-stop) travel with vehicle at ca. 3.2mt loaded. Or would you suggest going up a bit? There is no way knowing ambient temp at this stage but my guess is between 5-15C. I know you wrote you only opine on 200 series but given the 100 with turbo diesel is of similar weight would appreicate your thoughts if possible. Many thanks

Gaijin,

Can you give me the recommended tire pressure for this tire on a 2018 LC? It is stock size so I thought it would be 33psi. The tire tech said it was 31psi.

Michelin Defender LTX M/S
Highway All-Season
Size: 285/60R18 120H XL
Load Range: XL
Serv. Desc: 120H
UTQG: 720 A A

Thanks for all the help.

The tire tech is wrong. The Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure for the ISO-Metric (ETRTO) Reinforced (XL) tire size 285/60R18 120H XL to realize the minimum required Load Limit of 2,512 pounds for the LC200 is 33psi.

Many thanks ..makes good sense as 33 psi is inside the door BUT this does not accommodate for cold weather (add 10%) plus I will be loaded and have ARB steel bull bar so I will continue to run 37 or 38psi given this is highway driving. You are a wonderful resource and Nokian tech in Finland suggested these levels which I am glad to hear be reconfirmed. It is mind boggling why manufactures “recommend” low end pressure other than it makes for a “comfy” ride but sidewall stability can be compromised. Anyone who has drivien on a race track knows very little steering input at speed can have huge effects on tires and the motto “be smooth to be fast” works. Not in a truck but be smooth to be safe! All the very best from London!
