But how much do I HATE that purple looking stuff!

The purple only happens when you go with the cheap pigment dyed tints. The dye breaks down from the sun and causes the purple hue. Metallic tints will not break down and always look the same. A little bit more money but well worth it IMO

This is 5% (Limo) tint over factory tint! Dark, well yes, can't see in the cruiser even at 3pm in AZ on a sunny summer day from 2 feet away but the sun is INSANE here and to me there's no ther way to go! It's a little much on the side windows and I would tell somebody to get 20% on the sides up front but otherwise I LOVE IT! I think the color is fine and it looks good to me!

I got a buddy in town with a shop so I got it done for $115, that's for quality tint, not 3M but still there top of the line non-dyed tint...

That tint would be illegal in New Mexico........

Woud you like to be a law enforcement officer walking up to that vehicle in a traffic stop?

Well, I would have both my windows down so I wouldn't mind because I wouldn't know. If your question is weather or not I would like it if I were an officer pulling over some idiot who didn't understand how scary my job was then your answer is no I wouldn't. But I'm not that stupid..

Also, there are few police cars that have tint within the law here, meaning 35% on the front two windows. There is no law here on how dark you can go on the back windows. It's INSANE here with the sun and heat as I'm sure can me the case in TX and NM so I have never gotten a ticket for tint here.

What a diffrence after tinting. Like Sonorangirl said "In Arizona tint is a must".

See even my arse monkey agrees...... :flipoff2:

My position is that I feel compelled to point out that some things people may choose to do may not necessarily be legal in some places. I think it important to state such as it would be a shame for somebody to do something because they "saw it on the 'net" so therefore it must be OK. I feel that this position protects the Mud board from being cited as a catylist for illegal activities. Albiet activities that may indeed be legal in some jurisdictions.

The thing that makes me the most P.O.ed is the tint issue. I have that dual color thing going on with my windows and I hate it, even though I don't even realize it anymore. I had "limo" tint on for a while, but realized that it is not that needed and in fact a little dangerous and annoying when 4 wheeling at night. I'm at about 15/20% and it's cool b/c it keeps the sun out and the temperature lower, but I would love some kind of electric tint that allows you adjust how dark it can be from clear to blacked out.

I tried getting the stripper glass that whites out when you charge it electrically modified to work with a car, but no such luck w/out a huge budget. Those hang up tint/sun block things are Fugly and also a headache to keep tabs on.

One of these days I'm gonna replace all the rear windows and tint them evenly, but by then the 80 might be chopped, roofless and doorless like the 40 rigs.

Sounds like maybe posting State laws on tint would have been a good choice. In AZ there is no ticket for tint and you can't be pulled over for it alone... In WI you can get a ticket for having clear film on, I guess I was just speaking for me in my State and it would be assumed all States aren't the same by others.

Still have just the factory stuff on mine. That's good enough for me, the Tucson sun is hot but I've been here 25 years and I used to work outside so it doesn't bother me. Unless my wife and/or child are in the LC I drive around with the windows down no A/C even in the summer. Of course I'm also crazy enough to go do yard work on a saturday afternoon in June.

You have a yard??? Last time I was there it seemed everyone had rocks and dirt. :D

sonoranfun's ride does have some pretty dark tink and it's just a shame you can't see the green factory tint anymore because I like it. But the front windows do need tint, no question IMO.

So here's mine and wildyoats which I think you can clearly see the green tint on 6M1's. Yeah I really don't like the tint on my front windows but it helps and I can live with it alittle while longer till I find something I do like.
