I seem to have lost the door to my timing window (pic below). Is this a big deal? If so, any idea where I can find one?

Probably not as scarce as hens teeth, but it would be pretty easy to make one. Depending on your brand of wheelin' you might not really need it.
 
Its just a piece of 18ga or something with a tab, i bet you could just make one if you offroad.

No; the bell housing is not pressurized or oiled or anything (unless your rear main seal is leaking). The cover may help preserve the paint on the timing marks I suppose? I painted mine last time the flywheel was off anyway.
