Timing Belt Confusion for 1HD-T

Hello,
I have a 1993 80 series LHD with 1HD-T from Panama.
Any listing that see for a timing belt (and the two belts i have purchased) have 94 teeth.
The one that came off has 92 teeth.
Is there any explanation for this?
and are there any considerations i need to be aware of when dealing with water pump and tensioner replacement or otherwise?

so what is the correct part number for my 92 tooth configuration?

I have never counted teeth and I'd be a little surprised if there were different size belts.

As far as I know the only differences are between early and later versions of the 1hdt - specifically the idler switched from a spring tensioner to a hydraulic one. Maybe belt size changed too?

Anyhow, order by VIN from a reputable vendor. In the states I get mine from Terrain Taimer.

You can get a part number from a number of places. I like toyodiy.com. online vendors like megazip.net, amayama.com, or partsouq.com are good too.

Older part numbers supersede to the 94 tooth belt on partsouq.

It looks like cam and injection pump belt drive gears haven't changed.
I would guess Toyota updated the design for reasons.
If the drive gears are still the same, the tooth count isn't going to change rotational speed.

Maybe there was issue with belt tooth design.

Wonder if @OGBeno has any intel on a change

The early 1hz 75 seris and 1hdt probably share the same belts whilst the 1HD-FT and 1hz in the 79 series are comparable if I were to guess.

The early 1hz 75 seris and 1hdt probably share the same belts whilst the 1HD-FT and 1hz in the 79 series are comparable if I were to guess.

I ordered new belts from reputible dealers. Radd cruisers in Canada and Toyota Dealer in Panama (where the truck came from and i got the 94 tooth belts. The one that came off is notable shorter. I could try a 1hz belt on the 1HDT but that seems risky as we are dealing with timing..

Partsouq requires a standard vin and mine has a non conforming vin because its from panama (shorter vin number)

My guess is that something was modded at some point... still a mystery.

I tried looking some belts up on amayama and looks like an hdj100 in some markets got a 1hdt that shares a belt with the 1hz so it's possible you have a motor or parts out of one of those. 13568-19195 is the number and listed as having 92 teeth. Whatever belt you go with make sure you rotate the motor by hand (2 rotations) and your marks still line up.
