Hi,

When pushing the button to adjust the steering wheel (tilt/telescopic) it doesn't do anything. Makes a slight squeaking noise however. Any ideas what this can be?

Slight squeak, when button activated. Indicates motors are getting 12V. This is classic of failed/failing motor(s). Do check grounds. Since, any unusual resistance, will drop AMPs to motors.

Typically we only see one motor fail at a time. But sometime they both do. There are also screw drives, that need grease and old bushing wear out. These areas, can cause additional mechanical resistance, overloading old motors.

Sometime we can help steering wheel along. By pulling/pushing out/up/down/in as we use button. Get steering wheel, to a position, comfortable for driving. Many opt for this, over cost of new motors. Sometime this same action, getting them to move. Tele/Tilt starts working again. We see this in system that aren't regularly used/exercised (turned off in tech stream). Like all buttons on the 100 series. They need to be used monthly if not daily.

Many thread on service these motors.

Likely the motors have frozen in place from lack of use. Some people have had some luck getting them unstuck by pounding/shaking the steering wheel while activating the motor. There's threads and Youtubes on digging in to the motors for either repair or replace.
