My 1969 FJ40 rearview mirror vibrates when driving. Is there a way to make it fit tighter in the bracket? I tried to slightly bend the tabs outward before reinstalling the mirror into the holding bracket (which is solidly secured to the windshield frame) but that did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I bent mine out to the point where its difficult to reinstall and added a couple small pieces of tape where they touch. Works well with no vibrations now.
I added some duct tape, layered up and trimmed to fit inside the bracket. Has worked just fine.

Later models have that "nub" on the mirror arm to hold the piece snugly against the windshield.
