Hello Everyone i have put in a couple of hrs of research to come to the options i have here, please feel free to leave your honest opinion as i am not too knowledgeable on this topic, any suggestions are also very welcomed, i am unsure between the options as i just need to pick and choose one soon as i will be driving in the dark a lot more than i used to and Halogens are just not cutting it anymore.

I have read into HID's But with RetroFitting it seems Complicated but if it does Perform/Better Bang for Buck than LED i would Definitely Consider more Heavily, im not afraid to spend $300-$500 For a Complete Set of New lights as long as i know they will last a long time and still hold up after 4-5 Yrs.

The Moritmoto 2Stroke 4.0 Set, Total Cost: $520 Usd After Taxes

Lasfit LA Plusfit Series, Total Cost: $125 Usd After Taxes

Cheap Amazon LED Kit, Total Cost: $ 98 Usd After Taxes

Sealight S7 Set, Total Cost: $172 Usd After Taxes

Philips UltinonSport LED Set, Total Cost: $124 Usd After Taxes

Also Side Note, Does anyone know who i can buy these type of Tailights/Turn Signals From? i remember seeing someone sell the Clear Turn Signals at one point but have forgotten who it was, i have searched on Ebay to mostly find them in the High $200-$300 Range, Info is greatly Appreciated. I can’t speak to the LED options but I did the morimoto mini H1 HID retrofit and I think they’re incredible. Very bright, good color, sharp cutoff. Love them. The process is well laid out in the post here on mud. It’s not a quick process, but very doable.

I would try HIR bulbs. If you're going to use LED's, at least get quality ones, there's plenty of posts here about cheap ones causing many other issues. But, keep in mind, your reflectors aren't made for them and you're going to be blinding everyone coming at you. Morimoto retrofit is the best option.

If foregrounding light performance is on top of your list, a projector lens retrofit is unbeatable on all accounts. Light focus on the road, light spread across 5 lanes, longevity and customizability it takes the win easily. Now if you are sold to that, the next important question is if it’s going to be the conventional HiD or the newer technology LED projector lens.

I just installed some Diode Dynamic led bulbs ($150ish).

They suck. The light cut off is pretty crisp with a decent pattern; however, the output is way worse than decent halogen.

Stick with good quality halogens or splurge for the retrofit. I think anything else is a waste time/money.

If you are looking for the clear corner lamp, that may be me. Been selling the clear corner lamps for the past 10 yrs now.

Thanks for the info, After reading about it and everyone suggesting so i will most likely head that Direction, got any suggestions on good Halogens?

I posted this last fall:

I recently updated the headlamps in MY '99 LC. If (big "if") you want to go the "best stock performance:" Glass headlamp assemblies + Daniel Stern recommended Vosla 9012 (HIR2) +120 bulbs (2.8V, 55W, 1975 lumens) for low beams and Toshiba HIR1 9011 bulbs (9011, 12.8V, 65W, 2530 lumens) for high beams.

You'll need to do a little trimming to get the bulbs to fit, but they make a huge difference. Especially in new housings.

The Morimoto's being talked about in this thread aren't a replacement bulb, it's a whole lens retrofit. And, your "scam" video doesn't talk about long term or quality. Dig around for a minute and you'll find dozens of issues caused by cheap LED's with other wiring components and electrical gremlins traced back to the circuitry issues they cause.

OP, as someone who has done a bulb upgrade > HID retrofit > Bi-LED, go for a Bi-LED retrofit right off the bat if feasible. No ballasts to mount; fits as a normal bulb would; wicked bright; does not draw much power, high beams are excellent, etc. I went a little further than most and added Panamara Switchback shrouds.

From what I can find it looks like Murimoto ($200+) and Auxbeam ($40) both use CREE made LED chips in their headlight bulbs. It's possible that Auxbeam overdrives their chips to get more light output which would decrease longevity, but that's just a guess. Murimoto's sister company GTR Lighting says they use "NLW753 chips" which don't seem to exist anywhere else, but perhaps they have a multi billion dollar LED chip fab that they keep to themselvs. In the video he describes the issue of damage caused overheating factory wiring and plug connectors.

Any writes up that you’ve done or others? I’ve seen them for xenon. Is it similar?

Would these would in the LC light?

Edit: looks like they do work in an LC

Your post made me curious so I'm watching this video giving an overview of HID and Bi-LED options.

As someone leaning HID, I am concerned by your experience of spending time/$$ on the HID retrofit and being left unsatisfied enough to subsequently want a different upgrade..
