With all this warranty, shady dealership talk in this thread, has my thinking about my stepdad's 2000 Honda Odyssey. Transmission went out at 95k miles (70 or 80k drivetrain warranty, don't remember). Went into the dealership once and was told "out of warranty, but here, try calling corporate, here's the number." One phone call later, he was scheduled for a pro-bono transmission replacement outside of warranty. This seems like a fairy tale in today's world, but it actually happened!
Oddyssey, CL, TL - all those V6 had bad trans.... for long time Honda V6+AT were trash (except the manual ones)

Honda and Lexus (RX300) did lots of "good will" replacement. Our 175K RX300 got a brand new free trans from Lexus as Goodwill. (of course this was two months after my LS500 motor went kaput).... Sad thing was design was never changed on that tranny. At 245K when that RX trans went again - it was donated to Red Cross

Yep, but I had a TL with the 6-speed and it was sublime 🥰

So you guys are saying Toyota does not know how to design a crankshaft and bearing setup for the same. Right…
Could be a supplier issue or perhaps an oiling issue. The turbo issue early on with the tundra were a supplier issue. I also have a problem with using 0W-20 on a direct injected engine making 479 ft-lbs at 2000 rpm and there have been some questions about the oil flow path in the V35 where the main bearings don’t get priority.

But it looks like GM is having a similar problem with their 6.2L. NHSTA is looking into potentially 880,000 6.2L suffering from similar issues and I’m guessing we may see a similar recall. Obviously GM knows how to make a pushrod V8, but something happened with this latest L87 iteration.

I tried to say this in another thread but everyone got butthurt. This isn’t a Turbo V6 issue. We have had direct injected turbo 6’s and turbo 4’s in trucks for 15 years now and main bearings were not an issue. It’s not because the engine is overstressed. This is some specific to Toyota.

Because people don't like to hear facts.

all of you mall crawl anyway so 200 even a 250 is overkill. Just accept it and buy a Prius.

Someone has to flex on the 4Rs and Prados.
HALLELULAH

As high in the food chain we are, in my old age, my vision doesn't allow me to see so far down to the commoners with their 4r and prado.

There is some good tech in this thread, but it ventured way off base so the thread has been locked. Chat threads can be started in the chat section.

This thread was borderline to begin with talking about the 250 in the 200 section, but I let it go. It has run its course and is spiraling.
