There are two reasons OEM suppliers sell the "same thing" on the open market.
1: The OEM had decided the item is no longer proprietary and we don't care.
2: It is not good enough for us to use.
The challenge is determining which is which.

We all USED to have a great parts guy in NM, but he popped smoke & now we're all left 'gambling' on Aisin parts from wherever we can table-scrap 'em.
IDK what happened to that fella, he had such a good thing going he nearly had a religion that was on the verge of overtaking L. Ron Hubbard - Maybe the Revelations of Shaminism will tell what happened. I hear he wanders an air conditioned Heaven of sorts.
You hear all kinds of stories like that.
