Does anyone know what these little pins are for? I have only the four of them. I think they were in the same container with the cone washers and nuts for the knuckles, but I can't see anyplace they would go on the knuckle. They are about 8mm long and they are tapered from about 5 mm at one end to 6mm at the other.

I'm stumped.

The 40,60,70 stuff is all the same . I have a kit that I pick parts out of from time to time. Post a picture of what you need.i probably have a new one

Thanks Dean.

What I need is another one of these rings, it's 145mm in diameter, the one that I have is 150mm in diameter.

I also need a pair of springs for one of the disc brakes. He had that one apart and the springs are missing.

And I'm going to need to borrow someone's 54mm hub socket.

It's always the simple crap that makes things difficult?

Side note.

On the oil change. I've hear of engine oil specifically for diesel engines, but is it necessary?

Your pins look like loose bearing rollers to me. I'm in the habit of running "diesel" oil in my gas cruiser anyway. Rotella is what I get.

OK, so the "pins" are not important. Good stuff.

I got lots of oil here, but I have to go get some more gear oil anyway so might as well get some Rotella.

Thanks again.

You should own a 54 mm. I'll look in my stuff today if I get out there.

I still have a couple more issues. Man, things are easier to put back together if you were the one to take it apart!

I have four extra bolts. I think they are supposed to go in these holes in the hub. At first I tried them from the hub side and that didn't work so now that I look at it again, I'm guessing they go in from the rotor side to help hold the rotor to the hub. Correct?

I am also having a problem with the bolts that attach the calipers to the hub. Pretty sure that is what this huge bolts are for, but they seem to bottom out just before they get tight, like only a couple of mm. I didn't find any washers with them and did not find any type of spacer either.

Caliber bolts are 17mm if I remember correctly. 2 per calipe r.

There are 8 14 mm bolts that hold the spindle on. That's what those look like.

Should be wheel studs there I think. I've had a few but I'm pretty sure. Not bolts.

OK, so here's a question not related to the front axle rebuild and you guys will probably think I'm crazy but...

Will a PTO winch made for a RHD fit this? Found one for sale that might be a good deal.

Driveline is the same RHD or LHD, can't see why it wouldn't work. As long as its for a split case.

Those 4 bolts are for the rotor. Dean is correct with the other 2, you may have put the proper caliper bolts on with the spindle.

That's what I thought, but the ad highlights the fact that it is RHD so I thought he might had issues selling it to someone with a LHD.

As for the bolts, I've used the four smaller bolts to attach the rotors to the hubs. I'm sure the other two (I have four in total, two per side) are for the calipers. They are just a smidge too long. I must be missing something.

And, wheel studs. I don't have any means to press them in so I tried to just hammer them in, but could not get them 100% in. Would that be OK because when I tighten the wheel nuts it would pull the studs tight or should I make sure to press them in tight before I move on? Just an FYI, the studs go through the rotor and into the hub and are basically what holds the rotor to the hub.

I need new quarter patches so I'm pretty sure I'm going to order these from Quebec. They're French but I think they will still fit. ;)

Just wondering if anyone else would like a pair at the same time. I have contacted David and he says they are $480 plus shipping for a pair. Have no idea t this point if there's a possibility for a group discount. I'm just checking to see if 20 gauge is the same as the 70 as the 40's are 18 gauge, but I'm sure Toyota must have thinned out the metal at some point in time.

Let me know as I want to get these on order before I change my mind. (I won't).

I bet Hosam could be interested

;) That's what I was thinkin'.

I could test the waters on his truck first!

Can't remember if Dean is in need or not. Steve?

Negative for me, that guy used to live in Lethbridge I think
