Did somebody say Terrain Tamer HD brakes?!

We're installing a set of Harrop E-Lockers along with Terrain Tamer HD brake rotors and pads on Ian's 100 right now.
He and the cruiser will be heading to South and Central America shortly ...... for the next few years at least.

I went ahead and ordered OEM rotors and pads from my local dealership today. Relatively cheap and they will have them tomorrow morning. There's no way I could hold out for the Terrain Tamer rotors. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Before our trip I checked the pads and they looked like they were about 50% or so left. But they are grinding like crazy. I think. Something isn't right. I added grease to the knuckles because they are leaking like a sieve and that didn't stop the grinding. So I just parked it. I will start tearing in to it tomorrow afternoon when I get home from work. Hopefully get everything torn apart tomorrow night and let nasty stuff soak overnight.

It's been 7+ years since I've done a knuckle job and I didn't real do much on that one but watch and hand tools. So this could be interesting. I've got vacation time I need to use or lose this week so if I can't get it done on Sunday life will go on...

This happened today. It's been 6k miles (at least) since I deleted the EGR. Threw a code 26 today. Need to look more. Can't remember if 26 could be the O2 sensors... I drove through some nasty 18-24" deep sloppy mud yesterday and today going to a customer's house on a "B" level service road.

Pull the EFI fuse for a while and let the ECU reset and clear codes. If it comes back right away, you have an issue to be resolved.

That's what I did this morning. She idled a little low but didn't die. About 450ish. Drive her for about 15 minutes. She got up to temp. Will be driving her again shortly.

Yea, I never believe the occasional codes. My LX450 throws one at me about every 6 months or so. I clear it out and it's usually all good for another 6 months.
Most likely a sensor on the edge as opposed to a "problem".

Drove it two more times and no code. Purring like a kitten. Then parked it because I didn't want to grind the rotors any more.

Then drove the 92! Smiled all day. It is such a joy to drive.

How much are OEM rotors? Did you go with the 100 pads? Cost on those?

I am getting ready to do all of this as well...I was going to go NAPA. I need calipers too.

Paid $200 for two rotors and front pads from my dealership.

Pulled the front wheels off. Put the micrometer on the rotors. 31.2 on the driver's side, 31.4 on the passengers side. It was drizzling and cold so I just replaced the brake pads and went about my day.

I'll replace the rotors when the weather is better.

Code came back tonight. Going to pull the fuse and reset it and see if it comes back again...

Had to wash it well today because of mud. Don't know if that is related...

What code?

What code?

26. EGR. Had it before. Deleted the EGR. Didn't have it again for 6k miles. It popped up yesterday. Reset it. Came back tonight. Reset it again.

Time for those Wits End EGR delete plates

Code 26 is "Air-fuel ratio rich" isn't it? I don't think that'd be EGR related... I guess it could be, but I'd guess it's more O2 sensor/wiring related.

Yes. I knew it was the O2 sensors. That's what I mentioned in an earlier comment on this thread. I just was aggravated and tired. I've deleted my PAIR system so I'm thinking I will relocate the sensors there. Have to look up how to do that.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I messed them (or the wiring) up when I was going through the mud this past week. It was deep, thick sh!t.
