Nah, that's just what we continually tell our selves while building them to keep us from burning them to the ground...

That said, I'm excited to see the continuation of your build!

Ok so I am going to take out the sun roof assembly. Then I will cut the roof at the b pillar back.

So my thought was to keep the front cab part intact in order to have a semi sealed interior (atleast from the front) for mudding or snow wheeling. It would keep most weather out and atleast heat blowing on me.

Once I take out the sun roof assembly there is very little left of the front roof. I could patch the front roof part, put some plastic in there to let light in but keep from getting rained on. I wanted to keep the b pillars intact so if I felt like winter wheeling I could put full doors back on.

I dont know what I will do. Too many options.

How strong is the front cab part with the b pillars left intact???

For the exhaust.... what do I need to leave intact???? Will it run ok without cats??? What would you guys do with it??

The sliders are getting cut off along with rockers. This will result in much higher clearance new set of sliders.

The fuel tank can stay below and I just reroute filler hose or I could set up a fuel cell in back cab part. Have not decided on this yet.

All these electrical lines that I am pulling from back forward. Do I need to save any of them?? Will they mess anything if I just cut them off and seal them?? Should I trace them as far forward as I can and undo them as close to front as possible?

If anybody has any thoughts feel free to post up..

Whithout the cab intact... you have zero structure. The B pillars are not nearly as strong as the A pilars.... which are BEEFY to cut through...
When I did Lorena, I brought the rear forward to fill the sunroof hole:

Also does anyone know how to remove the rear sliding windows???

Ill leave her open then. Deal with the weather and plan on roll cage sooner rather than later.

I don't have much input, but you've certainly grabbed the cat by the horns.

If you want to keep taillights and what not I wouldn't just trash all the wiring, unless you're cool with re-running stuff from the front. Even for a completely non-streetable rig, brake lights are a good idea, and you'll run into the problem of it not wanting to get out of park without them (I think... this can be bypassed, but, why bother).

I would leave as much of the exhaust as I could without getting in the way of anything, unless you plan on getting something made for it.

If I were in your shoes, I would get a tube bender, or a friend with one.

Looking forward to this.

easy! from the inside.... just peel back the black molding and slightly push out.... it'll come out as a unit.

sweet, thanks Erik.

Yeah I have not destroyed anything useful as far as wiring, ill keep the harness for taillights in place. Is the wires running under the rig just for the tow set up??

Yeah I need to get a welder. Im thinking mig.

Tube bender also. Well see. I dont want to pay for anymore stuff on cruiser, I plan on building from here on out so tools are an investment to me.

I took out the sun roof assembly. Im gonna try sell some of the junk I took off.

oh yohavos, I was stationed at fort lewis, awesome wheeling in wa.

Yep, tried to catch up with you before you went home but was deployed, you were out before I got back.

Just ETS'd a tad over a year ago myself and enjoy driving the cruiser to college everyday, then hitting the mountains every weekend.

If you took that much off of a cruiser out this way, there would only be about 15 days a year you could drive it without getting soaked

BS! I lived in Seattle and one summer it didn't rain a single day! nearly 3 months of no rain.... the winters... different story.
Oddly enough the years I was in Seattle, I was into mtn. biking and owned a convertible Roush Mustang. But many a day were spent with that top down cruisin' Greenlake!

I almost stayed in WA but didnt, oh well. It didnt rain everyday but it usually was misting. Though during summer had some real nice weather.
