Oh you grabbed that 55 from sask here? I recall one for sale fairly cheap last month.

Yup. :) Luckily it didn't disappear in the couple weeks between when the ad was pointed out to me, and when I had a free day to go get it. I still haven't given it a really good look over, but it's pretty complete. Body is in rough shape rust-wise, doors are surprisingly good though. Engine is free enough to rock the crank back and forth a bit by hand, but I've got the cylinders soaking before I try forcing it through a full rotation.

Yes i was tempted to pick it up just because haha. The price was worth the parts in it for sure. I was just after the motor

Gauge panel and tach in. :)

Geting excited for this thing man

Good Job Curtis, I might have to get parts off you in the future, when you buy all the Pigs in Central Canada ;)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from New Pig Owner on West SIDE! ;)

@Deny What you got planned for it? Year? I assume the stinky gasser will be replaced? When the time comes Deny, let me know what you need and I'll help you out if I can. :)

Ha ha, no food in the freezer, my dad just wanted to get rid of it so asked us to take it too ;) Plan is nothing right away, as I have to finish the work truck then my plans to build my spare 42 into a troopy for wheeling, then the wife laid claim to the pig. I am getting BJ60 from my dad's place as well as it was sitting for 15 years too and was my brothers wifes truck till they tore all the windows out to replace the roof as it is totally rusted. So rough plan is pulling the F engine (not too sure what year the truck is but think it is 72 or 74?) and installing BJ60 drive train, mild lift, turbo, fix up the body (actually not too bad but does have some rust scars). Might need a rear tail gate, as it does have one, but looks really rough, will see once I start picking at it in another 10 or so years ;)

Amanda has good taste (not that there was any question). If the engine is a "1.5F" (late '73 and '74) with a spin on oil filter on the pass side, they are fairly desirable as far as cruiser gas jobs go.

Just washed it, not sure if you are a big enough pig guru to tell the year but here are some better pictures.

That thing looks pretty solid. I like it

The little vents in with the rear side markers and lack of bug catcher vent windows in the front doors make it later than Spot ('70). It's consistent with the one I got in Sask ('74), at some later point the tail lights changed to a larger stacked design a bit like the 60 series. I'd guess 73-75? There should be a plate on the B pillar with a date, likely something under the hood too.

I've got a crappy tailgate (rusty) that would fill the gap if you need something, depending on what I do with this Sask 55 I might have one worth repairing.....

Thanks for the offer Curtis, but I do have a piece of plywood to fill the gap, will just use that till I get around to working on it. Sorry for taking up room on your pig fix thread ;)

I don't mind a bit. It's interesting and motivating to see wheeling buddies getting involved with pigs. I know Tyler's doing some scheming with his. Hopefully a bit down the road well be able to do some kind pig run. :)

There won't be anything happening on my end now for a while. Headed to the rig this afternoon, and the client has advised my workmate and I that we'll be holding down that rig until breakup, less a 3 or 4 day break mid February. :) ... :meh:.. :( ... :zombie:

Have been "unemployed" for a couple weeks now, and starting to get back at Spot. Exhaust done, power steering lines run and a couple brackets tacked in to hold them, headlight buckets / bezels cleaned up a bit and headlights in (learned that the round and rectangular sealed beams have different pin layout), front turn signals wired in.....

Have fired it up a couple more times to make sure the gauges work, and see how the exhaust sounds...

Brother Todd is out for a holiday, will likely get him to help with pulling out the front axle to rebuild and beef up... maybe after a run around the block first. :hillbilly:

Looks Moab ready

Shocks too. Shocks're stoopid.

But yes, coming along and will see the light at the end of the tunnel once I get the brake booster and master figured out with some sort of bell-crank spacer do hickey.
