Question on the exhaust…did you put a small high flow cat in the system? I’m trying to figure out what the small barrel aft of the header is.
Yea. I add one to all of my sniper systems. Snipers tend to run rich and it cuts down on fumes.

Another great refresher. Wondering what /where you purchased the aluminum heat shield for the transmission jump? Thanks in Advance

Safe travels to the Galli brothers. They just made a cannonball run from California

Sam sent me this video.

He has so much slack in the 3 on the tree that it’s hitting his steering box.

I have very little experience with these. Anyone?

I think that little support housing that the shift rod goes into can be slightly rotated? It looks like there is an adjustment needed or parts need to be replaced. I know you hate the column shifter, but I love mine.

See last photo in post 23 here for what I am talking about:

So wild you did a Saginaw and kept that 3 speed. 😜

Not mine, that belongs to Mr. Jennings. I hate the 3 speeds, but for an around town ride, it's tolerable.

I dont have anyone to help video or shift and its dark out, so i pulled out some parts. Appears i was not correct in assuming that housing can rotate. The end of the outer column tube is split, and there is a washer that locks that housing from rotating by sliding into the split.

I would take a next guess at that pivot arm being bent. It doesnt appear it is loose or wobbling as it travels. The are plastic bushings in that pivot point, but you would see it wobble as it pivots if those were wasted and im not seeing that.

I will take the arm off tomorrow and take a look at those plastic bushings. If the plastic bushing is intact, I’ll heat the arm up and bend it out slightly.

I have two arms here in my container, both appeared flat/planar. I wouldnt bend it if its flat, just something to investigate.

I see you are in LA, hope you are safe from the chaos these past few days

I'm out of harms way barring catastrophic fire spreading, thankfully. I did get a fair amount of ash on the 45. The ash must have some metallic particles because it definitely attracted most to the alternator and starter. The possibility (although unlikely) for evacuation kept me from removing parts from the 45 this weekend.

Instead, I adjusted the steering and tightened the bolt holding the shift link lever.

I see in your photo, @EWheeler, there is a small lock wire underneath that arm. Any idea how that is holding anything?

I tightened the pivot bolt an estimated 3/4 to 1 full turn. I think that firmed up some wobbliness, but that could be in my head. There is still wobble in that arm if you pull the bottom end toward the engine. It doesn't wobble toward the steering box, it has tension pushing it in that direction.
In adjusting the steering, it was much easier to dial in the screw with a buddy sitting in the driver's seat rotating the wheel. As he turned the wheels toward the right, the screw would advance. To the left, bind. A few repetitions of left/right steering and it was dialed.

Some combination of these two actions clearanced enough to make it drivable, but there is still noticeable interference. It is most noticeable when shifting back from 2nd/3rd to 1st/Rev. See new video below.

That lock wire was purely to hold the washer/spacer on the bolt of the disassembled arm.

Im not a youtuber….Cal40, PM me your cell and i can text some videos. Your assembly seem awfully slopy compared to mine. I just took some videos. Can even facetime if you have an iphone
